Additionally, eliminated engineering time and effort for iPrism v6.0
documentation by converting documentation elements (Framemaker, Word, and
HTML) into a standardized Robohelp project, allowing me to enhance and
maintain the documentation, thus eliminating outside vendor costs and
meetings.

Unix, and Windows servers these arrays outperformed all products from IBM,
EMC, Compaq etc. Trained approximately 500 Sun Microsystems personnel,
resulting in increased sales revenues for HDS and implementation contracts
for SUN. Wrote the Lightning 9900 Installation and Configuration course.
Created complex hands-on lab work for the hardware and software
configuration classes. Received HDS 'Hats-Off Award' for this highly
successful revenue generating training and development effort.
(Jun '01 - Dec '02, San Diego)
Convera Professional Services (Carlsbad) ( As a Professional Services
Consultant for the San Diego Union Tribune, provided onsite project
management and wrote custom PERL parsing programs to migrate legacy data
from a VAX/VMS system (non Y2K compliant) into an NT Cluster SQL database
containing millions of records. This created a searchable news archive
system, known as CAMS (Copley Asset Management System), containing decades
of news stories, and a custom web-based user interface. This dramatically
simplified and shortened research times for Tribune librarians and
reporters/writers. Further, CAMS is a 'RetrievalWare' search-engine based
intranet application I deployed to five Copley newspapers distributed
throughout the U.S. to manage, share and archive intellectual property
including stories, images, and graphics. Each site required customized PERL
scripts for unique source data, which was parsed into the local SQL
database on a Windows NT Clustered Server, then indexed by RetrievalWare to
make it searchable for the local site, later to be extended to remote
sites. I also developed custom PERL to extract captions from JPEG photos,
which was subsequently indexed to make images searchable. Many CAMS UI
features were later incorporated into the RetrievalWare Smart Search
interface.
(Feb '99 - Mar '01, San Diego)

support, ISG staff (implementation services group), and Customer Support.
Received Excalibur 'Professional Services Employee of the Year Award'.
Performed system installation, and maintenance for training machines (San
Diego & D.C.) using Windows Server, MS/SQL, MS/Office, Web server/browser,
LAN networking, and RetrievalWare/EFS products. Assisted management in
building a classroom-in-a-box using networked laptops used for onsite
training.
