In October of 1999 I started as cashier. I was promoted June of 2001 to customer service

manager, I was responsible for the customer service that our store provided through our

registers, the customer service desk and the layaway department. I supervised the associates

in those areas also. In late 2004 I was promoted to assistant manager. I was then transferred

to Holland, Michigan after my training. I was an assistant over different areas during the

fifteen months I was there. I had supervised health and beauty, cosmetics and the front-end.

I then was assigned to the bakery. I then transferred to Findlay, Ohio where I assisted in

opening a new store. I was responsible for different areas during my employment, 27

months, at that store also: consumables (pets, paper goods and chemicals, health and beauty

aides and cosmetics); grocery; the front-end; and overnight assistant. During the time I was

an assistant manager I was responsible for the general duties of manager: customer service;

helping cover areas when the other managers were not available; vendor assistance; cash

office assistance; counting deposits There were also more specific roles within my own

departments such as: assisting in the hiring of new associates; holding hourly supervisors

and associates accountable; performance evaluations of direct reports; maintaining

inventory levels and accuracy; product display. I then took an extended maternity leave in

which I returned as an apparel department manager in Urbana, Ohio. I left for the

opportunity to be a general manager.
