Experience

1991 – Present

Ophthalmological practice, Jersey City, NJ

Managing Optician: Established the current location from inception to completion. The task included layout of

the facility, delivery and set up of equipment, hiring and training of staff, and work schedules. Developed strong

working relationships with vendors that allowed for accelerated services and product delivery when needed.

Continually exceeded assigned revenue targets by 20% through development of strategic marketing,

benchmarking and improved capture rate. Standardized procedures and methodologies for troubleshooting

client prescription problems. Developed a systematic analytical approach, which resulted in problems corrected

in half the normal time.

Beta tester for Nextgen Optik software. Partnered with programmers and developed the software aimed at the

optician’s point of view concerning their industry-specific needs. Installed and setup software; responsible for

teaching present team and all new hires to operate Optik. Advanced knowledge of computer hardware and

architecture.

Developed, and continue to monitor pricing structure for one (1) additional facility. Trained personnel at that site

in Optik, EPM and EHR; continue to coach staff in all nuances of Optik.

Pildes Optical, Manhattan, NY 1984 – 1991

Optician Manager: Reduced operating expenses by30% by thoroughly reviewing vendor products and services.

Negotiated alliances with new suppliers and heightened quality at a reduced cost. Trained personnel in all

aspects of optical sales.

Owner suffered a coma; assumed all responsibilities of owner/operator. After two (2) years, the lease was

cancelled, the building scheduled for demolition and all employees were relocated.
