Per operative surgery and post operative teaching along with drug teaching

required. Starting IVs and assessing patients capability for anesthesia

standard part of the job.

2009-2004 Pain Management

Started clinic, ordered all supplies, worked in the procedure room with the

doctor, initiated all paperwork, charged for procedures and for clinic

visits, helped obtain medicine clearance from insurance companies. On the

patient side pain patients need a lot of teaching regarding their pain and

the management thereof. As a nurse it was my responsibility to teach and

monitor compliance with the teaching and program.

2004-1987 Same Day Surgery

Responsibilities as listed previously, also worked in GI with the doctors

during the procedures. Worked for a time within the unit specifically in

pre admission testing and also in the recovery room.

1987-1986 Float Nurse

Worked as a floor nurse in all units except L&D and nursery.

1986-1985 Hospice RN

Worked with patients and families in hospice care, including teaching that

included signs and symptoms of death and dying and coping skills for

patient and their family.

Skills

I am a good teacher and fact that is why I wanted to get my degree so that

I would be stronger in that aspect of nursing. I also very good at placing

IVs in patients. Through years of experience I have developed skill in

assessment of patients pre and post op patients. I am board certified in

Pain Management.

I have been an RN for 28 years. I am currently enrolled in Frostburg State

University to complete my bachelor degree in Nursing. I am married with

four grown sons.
