. 1 year plus experience conducting inspection and monitoring tests and
fabrication of steel pipes, flanges, dish head, couplings and outlets in
compliance with the AWWA C200, ASTM A36, ISO 9001, AWS D1.1 and ASME
codes and specifications, at vendor's shop facility/work site.

wheels and axles in transport industry.

. Experience of project jobs like construction/commissioning of new process

/commissioning of $800 million Panipat refinery of Indian Oil Corporation
Ltd.

. Represents third party Inspector for San Francisco Public Utility
commission (Client/Owner) to observe fabrication, testing activities and
record verification at Ameron, water transmission group Tracy CA (Vendor).
. Verifying the test or activity by witnessing the key components of the
test to the degree that acceptance can be granted or denied (accept or
reject) in accordance with contract specifications and AWWA C200, ISO9001,
AWS and ASME codes and standards.
. Audit physical testing parameters like ultimate tensile strength, yield
strength, hardness, %age elongation, stress test, falling Weight test etc
conducted at manufacturer's premises/outside agency.
. Audit sub contractor's / supplier's Quality Assurance & Control related
documents and carry out QC inspections.
. Recommend test methods for workers qualification, observing destructive
and non destructive (NDT) tests.
. Interpret engineering drawings rendered by vendor and to ensure that
fabrication and modification of straight run pipes/specials is according
to the drawings.
. Issued and resolved Non conformance report (NCR) by implementing root
cause analysis.
. Conduct QA surveillance for the paint coating and lining operations of
straight run/special pipes and monitoring inspection and tests (anchor
profile test, chloride ion test, ratio check test, mil thickness test
etc.) performed by NACE Inspector.
. Update checklist, tracking sheet and submit weekly reports to SFPUC
(Client/Owner), describing fabrication process observed in that period,
addressing to the issues (non-compliance, no record etc.) related to
fabrication and testing.

. Non-Destructive Testing (Level II) - Conducted Ultrasonic tests for
Railroads wheels and axles (100%) ensuring to customer specifications by
calibrating Automated Ultrasonic Machine and setting maximum defect level
echo. Witness Magnetic Particle Tests for Axles ensuring to purchaser's
specification.
. Represented Third Party Inspector (for a company with turnover of $131
million) for inspection of wagon and diesel locomotive components supplied
to Indian Railways both visually and dimensionally with hands-on
experience of various instruments and gauges like vernier calipers,
micrometers, dial calipers, surface comparators, outside calipers, vernier
height gauge, dial gauge, go-no-go gauges.
. Working experience with contract review, interpreting engineering
drawings and specifications for quality requirement flow down on Purchase
Orders.
. Maintained and calibrated the NDT equipment as per as the given reference
standards and writing instructions and procedures for level I to carry out
inspection.

indicators, fixed gauges, height gauges and other measuring devices, while
maintaining inspection reports and billing records issued and submitted in
time for billing.

2001 - 2003
. Process Plant Inspection (On stream) - Daily monitoring of process
parameters for corrosion viz. pH of overhead vessels, water quality,
dosing system. Monitoring of static equipment operating in high
temperature. Monitoring of heater condition for tubes, flame impingement,
Bowing, sagging etc.
. Shutdown Inspection - Complete planning of shutdown inspection including
manpower planning. Preparing equipment wise job lists for shutdown
inspection based on the last shutdown observations and daily inspection
observations. Selection of inspection technique based on the observations
made during routine inspection. Recording all inspection observations and
recommendation for corrective actions based on findings for immediate as
well as future actions. Recommendations of up-gradation of metallurgy in
areas adversely affected by corrosion, failures.
. Corrosion Inspection - Inspection of static equipment for corrosion. To
identify and solve corrosion problems to increase the reliability of
Plant. To conduct corrosion /metallurgical failure analysis based on
various literatures and recommendations for corrective actions. To
recommend corrosion control/preventive measures by selection and
application of materials, paints/coating, neutralizers/inhibitors, etc.
. Inspection of Tanks during M&I - Inspection planning for tank maintenance
and inspection as per relevant codes and standards. Periodic Inspection
and Condition monitoring of tanks under operation for seal condition roof
conditions etc. Inspection of tanks under maintenance and recommendations
for corrective measures as per API 653. Approval of WPS, PQR, WPQ and
testing as per relevant codes and practices for repair/replacement jobs.
. Piping Inspection - Inspection of Piping of process units and offsite
facilities. Scheduling of piping inspection as per the norms and
standards. Preparation of sketches of ISO metric drawings as per the site.
Visual inspection for external corrosion, Ultrasonic thickness
measurements for internal corrosion. Recommendations for corrective
measures, replacement, modifications to prevent failures.
. Welding Inspection - To review drawings and specifications with a view to
check design and material requirements related to corrosion. Quality
control of various similar/dissimilar metal welding, Like Carbon steel,
Chromium V Nickel and High alloy steels during fabrication as per
relevant codes.
. Witnessing of NDT procedures like MPI, PT, UT and RT.
Interpretation/Review/auditing of NDT inspection reports. Planning for
future corrective actions based on the observations made in the previous
inspections.
