C. JAMES CORRIS
DESIGN ENGINEER
Self starting, highly motivated with many years of experience in
electronics in the design of analog and digital circuitry,
microprocessor based systems, switching power supplies, and high and low
side power driver circuits, new product design and packaging, production
assembly equipment, PCB layout, EMC requirements for design. As lead
engineer I was responsible for assigning tasks and responsibility as well
as training for junior engineers.

SUMMARY OF WORK EXPERIENCE
11 years in Automotive Electronics
Senior Staff Engineer, Continental Corporation (Formerly Chrysler, and
Siemens)Huntsville AL
As Senior Staff engineer in the powertrain controller group, I have been
responsible for design to customer specification, supervising the
generation of documentation for engine/transmission controllers, including
schematics and pcb artwork, implementing design changes, releasing
production documentation, and providing test engineering and lab
technicians with procedures for trouble shooting, and test requirements.
Interfacing with the customer for design reviews, and specification
requirements, scheduling of prototype builds and deliveries, writing
specifications for new components, and testing modules from initial builds
was also required. I also performed failure analysis of product at various
phases of development, determining root cause, and initiating corrective
action. Once product was in full production it was periodically necessary
to work with manufacturing personnel to make changes for manufacturability.
Working directly with project managers I was responsible for meeting
customer schedules as well as our internal schedules and project timelines.
Prior years
For many years I provided consulting engineering services for companies in
Georgia, Texas, Alabama, and South Carolina designing new products. During
that time I designed a waste water sampling system to EPA requirements
that would work beyond the physical limitation ( 30 ft. ) of above
ground suction pumps.
Provided the design and prototyped the electronics for a
microcontroller based control system for an adjustable air amplifier
used in a ventilator for patients with breathing disorders. Designed
the air amplifier for injection molding for economy. Wrote the
software for monitoring patients breathing cycles, and adjusting and
maintaining air flow and pressure to preset values, and detecting the
patients changeover from inspiratory to expiratory, and vice versa.
Designed the electronics, and the packaging of a miniature ultra-clean
ionizer for control of static charges in IC wafer fabrication. The
design consisted of a positive and negative 5,000 volt power supply, and
an analog feedback circuit to maintain balanced output of positive
and negative ions housed in a 2"X3"x.75" package.
Director of Engineering: Responsible for production testing and quality
control of products for preventing generation of electrostatic
charges (ionizers, grounding wrist straps, clean room ionization system,
and monitoring devices). Also responsible for the design and production
engineering of new products such as a particle free (sub micron) clean
room ionization system.
