One of the largest AAA organizations in the country, serving over 6 million
members and employing 2,600 associates. Company provides members with
roadside assistance, travel, and insurance services, and has been in
existence for over 100 years.
Director - Human Resources
Direct an HR team responsible for providing a full range of HR services,
such as recruiting/staffing, employee relations, compensation/benefits, and
other HR initiatives for 400 associates in the Wilmington corporate office,
as well as another 500 associates in 2 Call Centers/Operations Centers in
VA and DE. Supervise a staff of 2 HR Managers and 8 HR Generalists.
. Provide a central point of contact for effective and confidential
facilitation of employee relations issues. Provide guidance to all levels
of management throughout the company in order to ensure consistent, sound
HR practices and compliance with company policy, as well as federal,
state, and local regulations.
. Partner with Senior Management on staffing and recruitment needs to
ensure the acquisition and retention of superior talent. Direct the
implementation and development of standard recruiting and retention
practices and procedures.
. Support various business lines and provide the operating units with high
quality benefits, compensation, employee relations, recruiting, and
training programs, policies, and services. Develop strategies with
business line leaders for realignments and reorganization. One of three
chairpersons for the Company's Pandemic Committee.

. Oversee the Unemployment Compensation program for the organization.
Negotiated a contract with the UC vendor, and presented seminars to all

One of the largest suburban school districts in Pennsylvania, with over
13,000 students and approximately 1,700 employees.
Assistant Director - Human Resources
Responsibilities included the recruitment and selection of professional and
support staff positions, coordination of salary and fringe benefit
programs, development of policies and procedures, various presentations to
the School Board, employee and labor relations, and administration of staff
development programs.

Company operated 18 home improvement centers in 6 states and employed 2,500
associates. The company closed following an unsuccessful Chapter 11
reorganization.

. Oversaw the work of 3 HR generalists in the corporate office to ensure
proper administration for wage and salary issues, benefits, and the
processing of all employee documentation.

implement them. Developed policies and procedures, and authored several
