the local university for four years.
2010 Teaching Assistant, Biology Department, UMM. Oversaw biodiversity laboratory
procedures, cleaned and maintained specimens and lab equipment, provided
tutoring, and led review sessions.
2006-2009 Floral Clerk, HyVee Inc, Rochester, MN. Was responsible for customer service,
handling cash flow, and care and maintenance of live plants, floral arrangements,
and store grounds. Processed floral orders both over the phone and by computer
using Teleflora and FTD.
2010 Student Custodian, University of Minnesota Office of Residential Life; Morris, MN.
Assisted in the cleaning and care of dormitories over the summer. Job was to
thoroughly clean dorm facilities and move furniture to their proper destinations.
Some outside work was done weeding the premises.
2009 Molecular Biology Project, University of Minnesota; Morris, MN. Utilized PCR and gel
electrophoresis to identify different species of salmon. Prepared a written report
and oral presentation of results.
2009 Ecology Project, University of Minnesota; Morris, MN. Analyzed effects of altered UV
signatures of flowers on pollinator visitation. Worked both in the field and in a
laboratory setting. Prepared a written report and oral presentation of results.
2009 Freshwater Project, University of Minnesota; Morris, MN. Collected and identified
aquatic macroinvertebrates along the Pomme de Terre River. Collected water
chemistry data, performed statistical analyses, and prepared written and oral
reports of findings.
2009-2011 Anuran Research, University of Minnesota; Morris, MN. Organized data on
effects of auditory cues on sexual selection in anurans. Wrote report of results and
presented findings in a formal oral presentation.
Activities & High school activities included Concert Choir, Key Club, and Science Social
Honors: Services Club. Graduated with honors. College activities included Biology Club,
Chemistry Club, Organic Gardening Club, and multiple self led projects involving
the propagation and breeding of plants. Volunteered at numerous animal shelters
working with cats and dogs.
Interests include growing and propagating plants, exploring/identifying wildlife,
and working with animals with a particular interest in reptiles and amphibians.
