EXPERIENCES
AUTOMATIC SWITCH COMPANY, Florham Park, N.J. 16 Years
Senior Engineer - Part of a team that developed a microprocessor-based Fire
Pump Controller used for life safety and fire protection of buildings and
their content. A multitasking, real time operating system was used.
Played an important role in developing the software to download hex files
into the equipment. A Modbus interface was developed to acquire and
display internal system information. Provided detailed documents that
defined the system including software requirement specifications and test
procedures. Developed a controller for an Automatic Transfer Switch used
by the Navy. Specifications and testing documentation had to meet strict
military requirements. Designed Graphic User Interfaces on personal
computer to monitor and control the status of transfer switches, breakers,
and generators. Software was developed using Wonderware program.
Developed new protocol specifications for interfacing to various company
products. Devices connected to computer via a 485 converter. Used Visual
Basic for developing test equipment.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE
Worked for several other companies including Lockheed Electronics Co.
Developed all aspects of a microprocessor controlled exercise bike
containing many unique features. A servo design in conjunction with
software provided a patented electronic flywheel eliminating the need for a
large conventional flywheel.
