Worker’s Compensation Specialist Responsibilities:
• Manage all worker’s compensation and personal injury matters
• Collect all pertinent information regarding the patient’s injury claim from
adjusters, attorneys, nurse case managers, and/or referring physicians
• Aggressive follow up on all old and new unpaid medical bills
• Fax work status notes and office visit notes to all the parties involved in the
injured worker’s claim
• Precertification and approval request from the insurance for surgeries,
physical therapy, MRI’s, DME and any other physician orders
• Surgery scheduling
Medical Assistant Responsibilities:
• Record patient’s medical history and check all vital signs
• Prepare, clean and stock all exam rooms
• Ensure all test results are readily available for visit
• Set up and prepare all necessary equipment for joint injections and
aspirations, cast placement and removals
• Suture removals
• Dispense some medications and refill prescriptions under direct supervision
of the ordering physician
