Engineering to procure a permanent long-term commitment for a company
seeking a hard working, dedicated individual.
Employment History
United Space Alliance, 2006-2011 Kennedy Space Center (KSC) Florida
Lead Design Engineer; Solid Rocket Booster Element (SRBE) Pressure
Vessel/Systems (PV/S) Certifications:
*Developed project schedule, budget, implementation plan, and created
design checklists in accordance with National Consensus Standards and
NASA/KSC requirements for pressure systems
*Developed and maintained a database of all 190 pressure systems in
the SRBE
*Organized and coordinated team of 6-7 engineers, tracked progress,
and reported status to upper management
*Performed engineering analysis for PV/S (hydraulics, high pressure
water systems, and high pressure gases including nitrogen, helium and
compressed air), conducted field inspections, identified safety
concerns and provided solutions, developed and reviewed Certification
reports
*Gained an understanding of NCS in design and safety for PV/S such as
American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American Petroleum
Institute (API), National Board Inspection Code, and the applicable
NASA/KSC standards
Facility Design Engineer:
*Established project requirements, provided concept and developed
detailed system engineering designs for facilities/facilities
equipment including plumbing distribution systems, pneumatic systems,
air conditioning and ventilation systems
*Performed analyses, cost estimates, procurement specifications, and
prepared final reports for design projects
*Provided technical direction for preparation of the engineering for
projects including generation of engineering CAD drawings, selection
of hardware, and supporting documentation
*Developed and proposed energy savings designs for existing facility
systems (i.e. upgrades for electronic controllers on mechanical
equipment)
*Gained knowledge of the application of plant/facilities engineering
practices including design analysis, project management,
facility/facility equipment operation and maintenance requirements,
plant safety, and administrative and budgetary control techniques for
facilities used in the aerospace industry
*Became familiar with government regulations for facility design and
construction including NASA/KSC, NFPA, Florida Administrative Codes,
OSHA, and other Building Codes
