EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
American Shear & Slitter Supply Co., Lincoln Park, MI
2/2002 - 9/2009 CNC Supervisor/Programmer
I started employment in early 2002. The general manager told me he wanted to convert
his manual machine shop into a CNC Production/Manual Jobs shop. His idea was to split
the shop in half. I purchased machines based on existing part runs and work loads. I
installed, networked and brought online each machine as we acquired it. When the
machine was ready for production, I married the machine with an operator either from the
current employee pool and trained them, or acquired them from a temp. agency
or through an ad in the newspaper. I established and documented all Standard
Operational Procedures,Engineering Specifications, Maintenance Standards/Cycles ect.
Basically I also became the company's Technical Writer. When I wasn't performing these
duties, I was converting old prints into CAD files to be converted into CAM files or
designing new parts to be prototyped to customers specifications. In 2006, The General
Manager purchased Ballard Rifle and Cartridge Co., and decided to relocate the
machining side of it from Cody Wyoming to Lincoln Park Michigan. I got all his shop setup
and in production in between mangaing daily activities at American Grinding & Machining.
• I brought 7 CNC machines online and set them up for production to include 2 CNC mills,
3 CNC turret lathes an existing waterjet, and a EDM machine.
• I setup AutoCAD, MasterCAM and Espirit to create a user friendly environment to create
CAD files and convert then into CAM files that could be sent to the machines via RS232.
• I plotted daily work duties per machine and operator in conjunction with part need and
machine availability.
• I purchased all tooling, consumables and supplies through Purchase Requisitions and
coordinated delivery and payment with our Office Manager.
• I coordinated and assisted in all machine teardowns, calibrations, certifications and
maintenance. Ensuring all phases were conducted to the highest standards.
• I dealt with the customer on a daily basis over errors in orders, rush jobs, accounts
receivable, accounts payable, new orders and engineering modifications.
• I ensured all deliveries from our facility and to our facility were on time and correct and
routed all paperwork to Office Manager and Foreman.
• I setup tooling tests with vendor representatives when machines permitted to achieve
greater profitability by obtaining superior tooling and consumables.
• I wrote all Engineering Instructions to the engineer's specifications and customers
requests. As well as wrote all Operational Procedures for all part types . Created all
Inspection Sheets, Guides and instructions.
Goodrich Aerospace, Spokane, WA
10/1998 - 11/2001 Quality Tech. II/EMT
Around the same time we went through a corporate name change, I was promoted to a
Quality Technician position posted onsite. I was replacing the sole Quality Tech. that we
had in our facility, who was returning home to the Pueblo facility. I continued micro-
structure analysis as well as destructive and nondestructive testing on carbon production
samples. I established the Calibration Dept . I purchased all consumables and tooling. I
wrote all Standard Operational Procedures, Inspection Sheets,Inspection Instructions for
the Quality Dept. with the help of many people in many places, and then routed the
paperwork to all managers to sign off on. I also organized our first AS 9000 certification at
the direction of my Quality Manager, to include audit escort with the Quality Manager and
the audit team. I became a Certified Emergency Medical Technician and established a
emergency response team at the facility with the maintenance supervisor who was already
an EMT and a member from the Pueblo team. I purchased our rescue equipment and
became certified in high-angle and confined space rescue as well. I setup and coordinated
ongoing training (OTEP) with the closest emergency response facility and ensured that we
stayed current on state requirements.
• I operated machines auch as ; pycnometers, coulometers and microscopes, to obtain
destructive and nondestructive test results and forwarded data to appropriate project
engineer and generated analyitical reports for quality documentation.
• I established the Calibration Department. I bought Inspection equipment. I sent out gold
standards to be certified with NIST. I calibrated tooling and then entered data into
GageTrack software to monitor calibration intervals.
• I coordinated tooling from furnace deck, textile mill, machine shop and the maitenence
department for calibration checks and issued certificates upon completion.
• I was assisted by Pueblo technicians and engineers in writing all quality documents
needed for production to include all machine shop inspection procedures and forms.
• I was responsible for ensuring Quality Assurance checks were performed every 6th part
and that discrepant parts were segregated from the production areas.
BF Goodrich Aerospace, Spokane, WA
3/1995 - 10/1998 Machinist III /CNC Programmer
I was hired by this employer after doing a 6 month college course for this employer. I was
hired as part of the startup team. I was responsible for setting up the CNC Department
with the help of the CNC Supervisor. I purchased all company tooling after obtaining 3
written quotes and entering data into company purchasing software.
• I was responsible for programming of all CNC machines insite.
• I was responsible for all CNC setups, modifications and adjustments to include marriage
paramaters,system loads and technical visits.
• I was responsible for ensuring a First Article Inspections was conducted prior to every
product run.
• I was responsible for all employee training on the machines, in safety meetings, Work

maintaince on the 8 machine cell.
• I was responsible for machine cell operation. Which consisted of monitoring the (CCU)
Central Control
Unit and ensuring constant production from 4 CNC mill machines and a robotic pallet
changer.
• Was responsible for First Article Part and documentaion from The Quality Dept.
certifying first article from the Zeiss CMM.
