were honored by drivers as they delivered Farmland Foods products on

Coordinated shipments of granite slabs (countertops and tiles) from
their origin to destination ports, including customs exams which
caused delays, sea to land coordination, vessel to rail transition, rail to
truck transition.
Required constant monitoring as seldom were items shipped exactly on
original departure date, and to provide ETA into destination port (Kansas
City).
Responsible for submitting all International Security Filings
(ISF's).

Logistics Coordinator / Customer Service
Scheduled all inbound and outbound truckloads with carriers for each
business day. Created a daily schedule with exact appointment times
for the various carriers to arrive.
Two facilities running simultaneously in the Kansas City area. Had a
company laptop and cell phone, and would travel between the two
facilities.
Sole daily contact between our sites, the client and the all
carriers.
Full responsibility for monitoring inventory of 300,000 in one
facility and up to 150,000 in the other. This included daily, weekly
and monthly perpetual inventory reporting to the client.

Family Features takes the recipes and copy submitted by food manufacturers
and creates a full-page, front-page of the Food section of the newspaper,
including customers' recipes (using their brands) at a much lower rate than
if they simply took out a full-page advertisement on their own. This
carried an implied endorsement from the newspaper.

Direct supervision of Production Department, consisting of four very
talented graphic designers, and the Distribution/Support
Department of two employees.
Worked closely with the Sales Department to coordinate strategy.
Served as sole client liaison, working directly with client Brand
Managers.
Supervised entire design and production process, from initial layouts
and proofing through final production and delivery of artwork.
Coordinated delivery efforts to newspaper editors across the country.
Responsible for personnel decisions, performance reviews, preparing
and adhering to the annual operating budget.
Accomplishments
Streamlined internal work flow processes by eliminating unnecessary meeting
time, making creative department more productive and profitable. Net result
was adding almost a full day of billable time for each staff member each
week. This was reflected in the bottom line.
Dramatically reduced the amount of materials used during the production
process by instigating a paperless proofing process, taking advantage of
PDF technology. Worked closely with the USPS to determine more efficient
paper sizes and took advantage of bulk mail rates.
Established in-house printing capabilities, dramatically reducing external
costs. The result of these cost-cutting initiatives saved the company
hundreds of thousands of dollars each year, while improving overall quality
of final product.
