Dear hiring Manager,
This is a inquiry into employment with your company as a CDL- A Truck
Driver.
I have 3 3/4 years experience driving Class A trucks. For the last 3 1/4
years I have been driving Heavy Haul Petroleum tankers, Wood Chip, dry van,
and refrigerated trailers rated @105,500 pounds, with over 150,000 safe
miles. Currently I am a Mentor in the Northwest Heavy Haul fleet at my
current employer. I have three years experience driving on the snow, ice
and over the mountain passes. In a continuing effort to add to my base of
knowledge I completed training on properly securing loads on flatbed
trailers using straps, chains, binders and ropes. My experience also
includes driving non - CDL delivery trucks for three years, including 6
months loading and driving flatbed trucks. My license is Enhanced for
travel to Canada and fully endorsed P1TX (passenger 1, doubles/triples,
tanker and hazardous materials) also I have my Transportation Workers
Identification Credential (T.W.I.C.) card. I have experience with two
different electronic on board communication and tracking systems, both were
QUALCOMM systems. I am proficient with a computer and
RFI scanners for inventory control.
I graduated from Bates Technical College's Commercial Driver Training
program July, 2009. I have operated a Fork Lift rated to 12,000 for more
than 25 years.
I have a strong work ethic with a great attendance record, I am flexible
and willing to work overtime as required. I work well independently without
constant direct supervision or I can work cooperatively as part of a group.
I am detailed oriented and safety conscious. I also provide excellent
customer service by not being late on a delivery in more than 3 years. I am
friendly and easy to approach.
I believe my work experience and training qualifies me for consideration
for the position of CDL-A driver. I desire to make an appointment to
discuss my qualifications and how I can use them to help your company
succeed in their goals.
Sincerely,
Timothy G. Gibbs
