Special Olympics (Every June, 1998 - 2008) - Provided medical support for
the Columbus (OH) Special Olympics State Summer Games with 500+ athletes as
a member of the Ohio Air National Guard provided that support at no cost to
Special Olympics.
Humanitarian mission to the Hoopa Valley Tribe in Northern California
(Annual Tour, June 2008) - By invitation and sponsorship of the sovereign
tribal government; provided medical aid to the Native American community in
Northern California serving as a member of the Ohio Air National Guard
dental team. Counseling was also given to the patients regarding dental
hygiene.
Humanitarian mission to Belize (Annual Tour, June 2005) -Humanitarian
mission to Belize to give medical aid to a poor community that had very
little medical and no dental support available. I was part of the dental
team that extracted teeth of the men, women and children in the community.
Many patients had never seen a dentist and wanted their problem teeth
extracted do to the lack of dental care. Patients that were seen the first
week also received after care. The next week, counseling was given to the
patients regarding dental hygiene. Many of the children had never seen or
used a tooth brush and were playing in the dirt with them.
