Kayser-Roth Corporation, August 2007 - present.
Sourcing and Social Compliance Manager
Responsible for production of all sourced goods for Kayser-Roth.
Product lines include leggings, hosiery, socks, underwear, sleepwear,
loungewear, and footwear. Responsibilities include tracking and monitoring
production, redevelopment of existing products for better cost and quality,
all factory social compliance, and factory assessments. Current countries
include China, Pakistan, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines
and Indonesia. Total FOB value of sourced goods was approximately 100
million dollars in 2012.
Hanesbrands, Inc., March 2001 - August 2007.
Senior Sourcing Manager for Performance Underwear
Responsible for developing external supply chain for Hanesbrands
performance underwear programs. Sourced garments throughout the world,
focusing on Asia, Central America, and Egypt. Responsibilities included all
activities from product conception to final delivery at our internal
distribution centers. Total FOB value of approximately 80 million dollars.
Met all established objectives.
Senior Project Manager, Sourcing Department
Responsible for developing and managing cut part purchases for
finished garments. Duties included identifying appropriate suppliers and
monitoring their performance relative to product specifications. Improved
performance of supplier by 60%. Total value of goods was approximately 19
million annually.
Stratford Road Facility Technical Manager
Responsible for process improvement, quality control, and cost
reduction efforts within the Stratford Road facility. This facility
produced in excess of 800,000 lbs of fabric weekly. Responsibilities also
include coordinating introduction of new products and changes to existing
products by working with Product Development, Merchandising, and sewing
operations as necessary.
Guilford Mills, 1999 to 2001.
Process Improvement Manager
Served in technical and manufacturing positions for all areas of the
facility, usually providing technical support for solving textile
manufacturing problems. Responsible for managing department containing 40
employees. This included all manufacturing responsibilities including
personnel and process improvement functions. Departmental reworks reduced
to 30% of the target goal. Non-conforming goods reduced by 40%.
Burlan Corporation, 1998 to 1999
Vice President of Manufacturing, Laminating Division
Responsible for managing facility and interfacing with customers,
vendors, and sales. Sales and productivity increased 300% during tenure
while improving quality and delivery. Responsible for developing detailed
laboratory procedures and all manufacturing procedures. Evaluated and
compared suppliers for cost reduction or quality improvement initiatives.
Textile Piece Dyeing Company, 1997 to 1998.
Manufacturing Manager
Responsible for all manufacturing activities for a 200 employee
commission dye facility. Implemented quality measurement and feedback
systems, systematic problem solving teams, and a detailed safety program.
During this time period, accidents were reduced by 50%. Also responsible
for justification of capital expenditures and all laboratory activities.
Veratec, a division of International Paper 1994 to 1997.
Operations Manager
Responsible for the start up and daily management of a $40 MM
project. Responsibilities included the hiring and staffing of professional
and hourly workforce. Facility was a target site for implementing Self
Directed Work Systems within International Paper. Started up equipment
ahead of target efficiency and quality levels. Responsible for ISO 9000
certification.
Milliken and Company, 1985 to 1994.
Process Improvement Manager
Began manufacturing experience as a management trainee and moved
through various positions of increasing responsibility and accountability.
Duties included process improvement, technical, and production
responsibilities. While with Milliken and Company, successfully started up
several new pieces of equipment. Named Innovator of the Year for water
