To Whom It May Concern
My name is Markelle Alexander. Let me tell you about my expertise that can serve you well in and be a pivotal tool you can
utilize to reach your goals.
I have an Associate of Science degree in Office Systems Technology with a specialty of Office Management.
My most recent experience involved a most exciting opportunity to work as a production coordinator for Sodexo, in the design
and creation of hard copies of bid proposals for outsourcing services to higher education institutions and public school districts.
I supported top executives by turning the multi-million dollar proposals into appealing hard copies or electronic versions for
presentation to prospective clients. One of my recent successes involved a re-bid proposal for the Rose Bowl Stadium, which
resulted in a $75M contract for concessions management services.
As part of my duties I performed writing, editing and proofing of crucial documents, created sell sheets, flyers and customized
mass mailings, and conducted extensive research on public school districts’ status, needs and funding possibilities to facilitate
future contacts by our directors of business development with school board members.
I am an innovative thinker and provide unique solutions for pivotal points of doing business. A recent example is my successful
creation of a training program for new production coordinators where I took them through a mock proposal process that
mirrored the production of bid proposals from start to finish. This program greatly enhanced the training process and new
employees were able to take on their own workload much faster and with greater efficiency.
At the University of Central Florida I held the position of senior secretary and worked in a team that facilitated the graduation
of approximately 3,500 students each semester. I verified academic completion status and student information for all graduate
candidates, printed and verified diplomas, performed mass mailings and supervised the information desk during graduation
ceremonies as well as designed the commencement program. I worked positively with college executives, outside firms, faculty,
staff, students, families and other guests to address to resolve their concerns. I also volunteered for various duties in the
Registrar’s Office such as working the registration helpline, testing a new student database and writing training manuals for new
procedures.
I have served as secretary for the Department of Children and Families for the state of Florida, assigned to a child protective
investigation unit that handled the extreme abuse and death cases. I was responsible for all clerical functions and I also
volunteered to perform many of the investigators’ administrative duties, including pulling prior case information, getting
background checks and writing death reports for the court. I held security clearance for the state child abuse database and often
assisted in training investigators on its functions. I acted as liaison between the department and law enforcement, social services
agencies, the families and perpetrators.
I work very well independently, am a self-starter and make customer service my number one priority, considering everyone I
work with a customer. I volunteer on a regular basis for duties beyond my regular responsibilities. I am a problem solver. It is in
my nature to find solutions where I see speed bumps along the road. I have the ability to be successful under pressure and a
strong commitment to maintain confidentiality.
Please take a moment to get more details of my abilities in my attached resume. I look forward to an opportunity to speak with
you further regarding becoming part of your team. My phone number is at the top of this letter. Thank you for considering me in
your hiring process.
Sincerely,
K. Markelle Alexander
