EXPERIENCE
Scientist II NASA (JSC)/Wyle, Houston, TX. Duties include: perform
experiments and testing of materials, preparation of specifications,
process study, research investigations, report preparation; performing
varied tests, experiments and procedures, using judgment to evaluate,
select and adapt standard methods and techniques; assist higher level
scientist in research by analyzing samples or testing new procedures;
analyze chromosome damage in irradiated cells tagged with red, green, and
yellow fluorescent markers; characterize and examine growth properties of
cultured mammalian cells; maintain cells in culture for long periods,
freeze and split cells, and record data on cell lines; irradiate cells
with gamma rays, protons, and heavy ions to study the effects of these
types of radiation on chromosome structure and cell growth patterns;
prepare media and stock solutions for the Radiation Biology Laboratory;
order chemicals and equipment for lab use; support experiments involving
heavy-ion accelerators; effectively communicate in both oral and written
forms; develop standard operating procedures in conformance with ISO

CT/Oklahoma City, OK. Duties include: sample log-in, setting up amniotic
fluid, tissue, blood, marrow, and tumor samples, harvesting and drying
blood/marrow/amnio/tissue cultures, slide dropping and GTW banding, C-
banding, NOR, chromosome analysis, cell capturing and karyotyping as well
as training others in all of the above, assisting in opening new lab and
training new staff in Oklahoma City (June 2002), generating monthly
incoming sample and turn-around-time reports, initial file reviews,
coordinating staff PTO, managing workflow, and coordinating lab meetings,
rotate on-call for emergencies. (December 1998 to October 2003)

Station, TX. Duties included making constructs, minipreps, PCR,
ligations, sequencing, ordering/bookkeeping, and teaching
skills/delegating duties to students. Also perform porcine heat checks
