Hospice of Citrus County of the Nature Coast Lecanto, FL

1/2012-6/2013

HR Director

Hired as very first HR Director for the company, reporting to the CEO.

Company is comprised of over 500 employees and over 800 volunteers who need

background checks, files, etc. Upon initial hiring, involved with multiple

labor relations issues which included terminations of over 5 managers. The

organization is based over 12 Florida Counties, and is a non-profit

organization. During my first year I helped orchestrate a payroll

conversation, (from ADP to Ultimate Software), and reduced Unemployment and

Workers Compensation Expenses.

Council on Aging of Florida Gainesville, FL

2008-2011 Chief HR Officer

Led Human Resources operations for three nursing homes and an assisted

living facility. Turn around under-performing operation to achieve

profitability. Garner substantial savings while improving processes and

employee retention and engagement through development of new programs and

policies for training, compensation structures, benefits packages,

incentives, and new-employee orientation. Administer HR budget.

. Successfully negotiated two union contracts, health insurance benefits

contracts, 50 salary offers, and numerous sign-on bonuses and

relocation packages annually for exempt and non-exempt employees.

. Reduced benefits and overtime costs by 25% annually through meticulous

review of bargaining agreements and recordkeeping, ensuring that

company did not pay for unnecessary benefits.

. Brought workers' compensation program into full compliance, reduced

premium by more than $250,000, and trained managers and associates on

North Broward Hospital District; Ft. Lauderdale, Fl

1998-2001

HR Director

Began employment as HR Director of Coral Springs Medical Center a 225 bed

acute care hospital. The HR department consisted of 6 FTE's, and I was

heavily involved in a Union avoidance campaign against SEIU. For my

efforts, I was promoted to Director of the largest Hospital in the

District, Broward General a 900 bed acute care facility with an HR staff of

28 FTE's, total 2200employees. Involved in department re-organization.

Left position to start my own business.

Columbia/HCA Southwest Florida Division Ft. Myers, Fl

1996-1998

In charge of 3 hospitals, 2 ambulatory care centers. Primary responsibility

was to consolidate HR processes, and standardize hiring, policies,

procedures for entire region, 3000 employees. Left shortly after the

Company Medicare Fraud scandal required the division breakup.

Miami Jewish Home and Hospital Miami, Fl

1995-1996

Managed HR functions for three retail thrift shops, a mental health clinic,

and an assisted living facility. Over 1500 employees total. I left when my

former CEO, now Columbia SW Division President, asked me to assume the HR

VP position in Ft. Myers.

Plantation General Hospital Ft. Lauderdale, Fl

1989-1995

Hired as HR Director reporting to CEO. At this position I was instrumental

in acquiring the ABRA HR system. This system automated our hiring process

and delivered it to the managers desktop. I also implemented the Florida

Drug Free workplace program. I left for a better opportunity at Miami

Jewish Home and Hospital.

Wellington Regional Medical Center West Palm Beach, Fl.

1985-1989

First HR Director and third person hired to open brand new facility. Hired

entire staff for 120 bed hospital, which opened 9 months after my hire.

Traveled to the Philippians' by myself and recruited 45 nurses for grand

opening.
