Extruded Seamless Tubing Mill

Oversee Die Shop; maintain equipment - including dies, tips, stems, backers, bolsters, sub-bolsters, sub-mandrels, mandrels, containers and other press support tooling. All tooling was available to ensure 100% on time delivery in 2009,2010, 2011, 2012, 2013.

Oversee press and die technicians, prepare and present during facility tours by corporate, customers and more. Coordinated experimental tooling along with process controls to increase quality and production of the tubes.

During absence of plant manager, successfully ran the extrusion mill in an interim role through 2011 until plant manager was hired in 2012.

* Scrap Reduction Team - resulted in a reduction from 3.4% in 2009 to 1.8% in 2010, a 40% reduction in unplanned scrap

* Implemented a Carbide Die Project to reduce shine time in press, resulting in better surface quality (2012) reduction of shine time resulted in cost savings

* Proven ability to increase profitability in Die Shop and Press area

* Met tooling “down time goal” of <2.1%

* Changed Dummy Block design to increase life 40-50%, repair costs cut in more than half, redesigned 10 inch die ring to improve safety
