Graduate Research Assistant at UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas (Jan 2012-May 2013)
• Thesis title: Noninvasive Assessment of Tumor Hypoxia Using Oxygen Sensitive MRI in Prostate Tumor
Models.
• Research is primarily focused on study of tumor hypoxia in animal tumor models using Magnetic Resonance
Imaging (4.7 T Varian MRI system). Duties include experimental planning, coordinating, troubleshooting,
training, data acquisition, processing, analysis and documentation.
• Gained strong command on MRI concepts, operation of Varian MRI system, MATLAB and ImageJ for
data processing and analysis, BLI, Ultrasound imaging.
Medical Device Engineer Intern at Centronix ( Jan 2011-Aug 2011)
• Performed duties that include designing, assembling, installation, inspection, validation, evaluation and
calibration of various hardware projects on medical device technology. Create system block diagrams,
equipment lists based on requirements, write system description and provide technical support.
• Gained knowledge on IVDs, Solid works, Lab view software, microcontrollers, chip programming, testing,
and system evaluation.
ENGINEERING PROJECTS
Stimulated Sleep Apnea study using Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (Fall 2011)
• This project was mainly focused on Sleep apnea study on several subjects using FNIRS and analysis of
respective data.
• Study conducted using Cephalogics high-density NIRS system using NIRS probes.
• Analysis of data is done using HOMER software.
Digital Signal Processing of Electrocardiogram signal (Fall 2011)
• This project was mainly focused on Signal processing, filtering and analysis of Electrocardiogram signal.
• Analysis of human ECG is done on MATLAB for various subjects.
Non-invasive beat to beat Blood Pressure measurement (Fall 2010-Spring 2011)
• This project was mainly focused on designing a working model for Blood Pressure measurement for every
heart beat using a non-invasive method.
• The relation of Pulse Wave Transit Time (PWTT) with Systolic Blood Pressure is used as the main element in
designing the working model.
• Hardware used is ECG electrodes, Pulse Plethysmo Graph (PPG) probe, Oscilloscope, Microcontroller (R8C
group) with LCD interface to display the results.
• Received first prize and cash reward as best project at University level..
HYGEIA- Domestic online monitor of Water Pollution for Household Applications (Spring 2010)
• This project was mainly focused on designing a working model of water pollution detector for household
applications based on conductivity principle of water.
• Hardware used is Conductivity probe, temperature sensor (LM35), Microcontroller (PIC), LCD to display the
conductivity level and purity of water.
Miscellaneous projects
• Designed a prototype for “An approach of DSM Techniques for Domestic Load Management using Fuzzy
Logic” paper for presentation at FUZZ-IEEE’09 Conference held at South Korea. Received first prize and
cash reward in Center for Innovative Ideas competition held at ACE college of Engineering, India. (Fall
2009).
• Designed a C program for “Mesh and Node Analysis” as a mini project to present at Ciencia, a technical
festival and received third prize in Coding Competition at CVR College of Engineering, India. (Spring
2008).
