Objective
To obtain a challenging position with opportunities for growth, where
my initiative, leadership, Lean 6Sigma, financial, safety and materials
experience can help an organization.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Hit or achieved yearly cost savings targets for materials team (2013 YTD
300K plus, 2012 275K)
Green Belt project: Increase throughput 25% in 2 months by line
balancing, cycle time analysis and waste reduction on capacity
constrained line with no additional labor. Led to additional $1.5M of
revenue in one month (annualized $720K productivity gain) for portable
air compressor business. Also new line shrunk from 450ft to 350ft to
allow 5T bridge crane to be freed up for new product line (capital
avoidance)
Facilitated Plant Steering Team in overseeing lean implementation and
directing resource activities to necessary locations - Overall plant
productivity improvement of 20% in hours per unit ($900K improvement)
Increased critical vendor on time delivery from below 78% to sustained
level over 93% and still improving through monthly reviews, plant
visits, and increasing their visibility to the metric
Reduced steel raw inventory by 75% through use of Kanban, standard lot
sizes and lead time negotiations, increased entire plant to 17+ turns
from low of 5
Project manager on lean transformation for 2 plants
Developed, coded, and implemented an Access program and bar-code
tracking system for product from production to shipping resulted in
reduced lost item warranty cost by over 50% and shipping OT by 30%
Made plant salary and shop leads more productive through Access/Excel
applications to become standard tools for purchasing, planning, and shop
to reduce non-value added time. (Kanban calculator and ordering,
warehouse pick tickets, and scheduling)
Supervised 1-2 cell leads and 20-30 hourly as 2nd shift supervisor.
Reduced man hours per unit for all 3 lines supervised by 15%. Mentored
and developed production leads to drive towards self directed work teams
Capable of studying a process and leading a cross functional team to
dramatic results such as 96% product lead time reduction from
traditional batch and queue manufacturing to lean work cells
