OBJECTIVE

intersection between habit and human health.

RESEARCHER

EXPERIENCE

August 2013 – Present

I am currently referencing a series of ebooks on herbalism for Green Path Herb School. This

work consists of compiling studies from peer reviewed scientific journals that demonstrate the

medicinal properties of plant and fungus derived compounds.

GRADUATE STUDENT RESEARCHER, UNIVERSITY OF MONTANA

July 2010 – May 2013

For my master’s thesis, I studied the effects of temperature on the fungal symbionts of the

mountain pine beetle. My study included data obtained from laboratory assays as well as a field

component.

TEACHING ASSISTANT, UNIVERSITY OF MONTANA

August 2012 – November 2012

As teaching assistant to Dr. Cory Cleveland, I taught the laboratory component of Introductory

Soils. My responsibilities included presentation of a short lecture, assisting students with lab

observations, accompany students on field trips, and grading assignments and tests.

RESEARCH ASSISTANT, UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, DAVIS

October 2009 – April 2010

I assisted graduate student Amanda Hodson with data collection for several experiments

examining the efficacy of entomopathogenic nematodes (EN) in the control of agricultural pests.

My duties included identification of arthropods caught in pitfalls traps, collection of data for

LD50 of EN to the European earwig, conducting soil moisture measurements, and EN

propagation for experimental use.

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN, UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, DAVIS

March 2010 – May 2010

My duties as a laboratory technician for Dr. Thomas Gordon’s Plant Pathology Lab included

agar plate preparation, soil spore assays, pine cutting propagation, and greenhouse maintenance.

RESEARCH ASSISTANT, UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, DAVIS

December 2009 – February 2010

I assisted graduate student Michelle Afkhami with data collection for a greenhouse experiment

examining the effects of mutualistic partner species (arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and fungal

endophytyes) on grasses under varying levels of nitrogen and phosphorus.

CLERK, TRADER JOE’S (CANOGA PARK, ELK GROVE, SACRAMENTO, CA)

May 2007 – August 2010

During my undergraduate education at the University of California, Davis, I worked part time as

a clerk at Trader Joe’s. At all three Trader Joe’s locations, I was responsible for stocking and

sales. At Trader Joe’s in Canoga Park, I was also responsible for ordering and stocking the

health and beauty department.

RECEPTIONIST AND FILE CLERK, SYNDER DORENFELD, LLP
