PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Emirates telecommunication corporation – Dubai/U.A.E APRIL 1987 – FEB 2012

(Associate Engineer)

Emirates telecomm corp (Etisalat) is the largest telecomm provider in the middle east and having

contracts with Alcatel Lucent. I worked here under contract at their data network operation centre/DUBAI

headquarters, providing high level support to field staff including major enterprise subcribers. My main

role was to solely managing the telecommunication Networks, complex infrastructures and

monitor/analyze the alarms from the ALCATEL and HUAWEI NMS and maintain the data network which

is built by copper, PDH, ATM, FRAMERELAY, SDH, MPLS and latest fibre technology by the HUAWEI

system(M2000) on 24x7 basis.

Responsibilities:

Monitoring and analysing the faults from the Alcatel/Huawei NMS and clearing the

•

network/network Elements problem Of leased data links for ANALOGUE, Ethernet, ISDN/PRI and

VOIP circuits.

Maintenance of IP-VPN LINKS via fibre network and coordination with ALCATEL MPLS/SWITCH

•

with BGP/OSPF protocols for the with selected QoS. Installation, Configiuration Cessation of

digital data links of ATM/FRAME RELAY connected with ALCATEL PDMUX systems (64k to

2MB) involving VAM NG/HDSL ALCATEL modems.

Trouble shooting of faults obtained from the incident management troulble Tickets via NETWORK

MANGEMENT SERVERS and feedback to the customers.

Maintenance of Alcatel 1630 SDH cross-connect terminals, including alarm Monitoring and

troubleshooting the individual ports and dealing with trouble Tickets from the incident

management,including meetings with subs.

Monitoring and trouble shooting of all data links as well as the transmission elements by the

HUAWEI NMS which are connected on the latest fibre HUAWEI NETWORK.

Key milestones and Achievements:

<Emirates telecommunication/DUBAI> – Supported a 5000 user infrastructure with further

extension across a large user network, providing operational support across a complex operating

environment, overseeing operating systems, during the migration of data links.

I. Formed part of the project team involved in rolling out a migration of data links From analog to

digital on year 1992.

II. Successfully migrated about 4000 data links via HUAWEI/GPON fibre networks In coordination

with ALCATEL MPLS switch.
