PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Contract Software Integration Engineer, Boeing 2010 – June, 2013
Worked in Boeing’s engineering cab simulators. Responsibilities included:
• Debugging and resolving build compilation issues
• Performing software and hardware integration incorporating software models and
hardware systems in airplane simulators
• Creating fast prototype model updates allowing flight deck engineers to
demonstrate provisional upgrades to high-level managers and pilots
• Acting as configuration control focal for my cab integration group
• Integrating and configuring simulation updates in a Research and Development
simulator
• Participating in an Agile SCRUM group tasked with building up the 767 Tanker
simulator
• Building daily development simulations for cab sessions. Communicated
simulation details with testing engineers and cab operators.
• Creating and maintaining GUI for initializing airplane startup location and
position
• Mentoring junior engineers with makefile, perl, c++, and build process questions
Contract Simulation Integration Engineer, Boeing 2004-2009
As part of the Cab Integration Group:
• Supported two 787 Cab Simulators for 24/7 testing.
• Built and documented simulation builds for engineers, incorporating system
updates for specific sessions.
• Created weekly baseline simulation releases.
As part of the 787 Autopilot Modeling Group:
• Created and updated Matlab Simulink diagrams
• Built models with generated C Simulink code
Contract 737 Cab Integration Engineer, Boeing 2001
737 Engineering Cab Simulation Focal. Provided realtime hardware-in-the-loop cab
session support for test engineers, test pilots, and cab demos. Configured the cab LRU
hardware and software as required per session and ran daily take-off and landing
scenarios to ensure proper function. Built and maintained the cab simulation and I/O
files.
Test-bench and Realtime Systems Modeling Engineer, Boeing 1989-1998
Supported the 747 Flap Control Unit test-bench. Created simulation of FCU using
graphical autocode tool. Ported FORTRAN code and converted test benches for a
platform upgrade.
737/777 Flight Maintenance Computer Modeler - Implemented FORTRAN model
updates and supported cab testing for the 737 and 777 Flight Management Computer
simulation models.
737/757 Wire Design Engineer – Worked with wiring diagram configuration and design
for the 737/757 Auxiliary Power Unit.
EDUCATION
1989 BSEE, Electrical Engineering Walla Walla College, College Place, Washington
(ABET accredited) --- French Minor
Senior Project: Wrote Motion Control Interface for robot arm with 3 degrees of freedom
using C and MATLAB.
