Description:

This project is to create a GIS model of Comcast's

cable network (Fibre & RF) that is not currently well-structured.

Conversion will be done from OSP CAD drawings into the SpatialNET system.

The Project Scope is to move the elements to a

Comcast provide land base with in the Spatial NET environment. Those

elements are Addresses, Support network overhead and underground

(poles\pedestals the corresponding strands\ trenches\conduits), RF

(coaxial) network, comprising the devices and cables, fiber network.

Outside plant engineering drawings, multiple dwelling units details are

maintained in a value of formats. The data at various levels in terms of

the underlying data model the reliability of the data. Comcast is utilizing

method for bringing all of its outside plant data into a common, well

structured, spatial NET GIS environment.

Re-drafting is for OSP data that is not currently well structured needs

human intervention to bring it into the target Spatial NET system.

Migration is for OSP data that is well structured enough to enable a

migration\transformation into the target spatial net system.

Comcast is updating its land base to a common teleatlas base, conflating

parcel data from a variety of sources onto the teleatlas street centerline

data.
