Received Master’s of Science in Psychology working in a behavioral neuroscience laboratory
studying molecular mechanisms of learning and memory in the lab of Dr. Paul Colombo at
Tulane University. Lab duties included proper care and use of animal subjects, maintenance of
rat breeding colony, experimental design and planning, data analysis with SPSS statistical
software. Trained in immunohistochemical analysis, Western blotting, light microscopy, animal
behavioral tasks, and stereotaxic surgery. Managed small team of undergraduate student
researchers. Presented research at national conferences as well as in small, local university
settings. Many collaborations with colleagues in a team setting including co-authoring articles,
grant preparation and running experiments. Familiar with government grant guidelines and
preparation including background research and development of specific aims.

C amp Turning Point/Camp Turn Around counselor
Camp designed for high-risk youth as a preventative measure to keep youth out of the
Juvenile Justice system. Duties included constant supervision of female campers during the
first week, partial supervision of male campers during the second week, water, craft, and
music activities, modeling of positive coping and social skills, and informal individual
counseling when appropriate.
