Career
Objective
Obtain a position as a team player in a multi-disciplinary environmental
organization where I can maximize my multi-dimensional environmental
consulting skills in a challenging setting to achieve the corporate goals.
Career Profile
ACCOMPLISHED ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTANT CERTIFIED IN ASBESTOS, LEAD-BASED
PAINT, RADON AND HAZWOPER WITH EXTENSIVE PHASE I ESA EXPERPIENCE offering a
solid consulting and management background, with 14 years consulting
experience and a strong record of performance in the industrial hygiene,
environmental due diligence and remediation fields; being a well-
diversified consultant who can not only provide quality, detail-oriented
services, but can also mentor junior staff on proper field techniques and
report writing skills to a multi-disciplinary consulting firm; increase the
operating efficiency and profitability.
Significant qualifications include:
. From 2005 - 2007, I was one of the lead environmental consultants for
the Detroit Public Schools system with respect to asbestos management
under the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) as I
conducted approximately 200 AHERA 3-Year Reinspections. Accordingly,
I provided asbestos abatement contractor oversight and third-party air
monitoring for hazards that I identified from the surveys.
. Eight years of successful consulting experiences working within
heavily industrialized settings in Detroit, Michigan where numerous
environmental hazards existed, such as asbestos, lead-based paint
(LBP), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), petroleum hydrocarbons,
metals and solvents. Working under "worst-case" scenarios in a
heavily industrialized city like Detroit and successfully identifying
and remediating environmental hazards have allowed me to reduce
potential liabilities to prospective clients by being proactive in
identifying potential hazards.
. Highly successful in performing and managing a wide variety of
environmental issues including industrial hygiene projects such as
asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, radon; environmental due diligence,
compliance and remediation projects involving Phase I and II
Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs); field work and reporting for
Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) sites consisting of low-flow
groundwater sampling, in-situ biological remediation, and soil gas
sampling; compliance work for the U.S. Postal Service.
. Extensive experience conducting and managing Phase I ESAs for a wide
variety of property types including banks, industrial facilities,
multi-family apartments, multi-level commercial buildings, and federal
land acquisitions for the National Park Service, The Nature
Conservancy and Save the Redwoods League.
. Put together a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for Versar, Inc. and
won an on-call services contract award in 2009 with the Sacramento
Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA) based on the SOQ to perform
hazardous materials surveys, contractor oversight and project close-
out. The contract was valued at $75,000.
. Won an on-call services award for Versar with El Dorado County for
lead-based paint inspections/risk assessments for single-family homes.
The contract was valued at $25,000.
. Won a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Enercon with the City of
Sacramento to conduct a Hazardous Materials Survey and Abatement
Oversight of the Amtrak Train Depot Station in Sacramento. The
contract was valued at $100,000. The building is on the State of
California National Historical List.
. Started my career in 1999 as an entry-level technician with
Environmental Testing & Consulting Inc. (ETC) and within two years
became a Project Manager that supervised junior staff, conducted
business development as well as providing field work and applicable
reporting.
. Throughout my career, I've always stressed to provide total commitment
to colleagues, clients and the organization as a whole. Accordingly,
I have a pleasant personality and I interact well with people at all
levels regardless of their cultural, economic or social backgrounds.
