Operations Manager
To effectively plan, lead, organize, and control the manufacturing process
for all manufacturing related operations within the site. Reporting
directly to the Ops Manager will be Production Manager - Foil Products,
Production Manager - Liquid Products. Production Scheduler, Warehouse
Manager, Plant Engineer, and Maintenance.
Specific Responsibilities:
Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities.
. Supports plant safety, fire protection, and housekeeping
programs and maintains safe working conditions.
. Facilitates the supervision / activities of subordinates through
timely performance appraisals and day-to-day interaction, and the
production employees through the department manager or shift supervisor.
. Monitors all production, waste, and quality metrics. Facilitates
and validates various reports necessary to assure continuous quality and
productivity measurement / improvement within the manufacturing operation.
Drives departmental improvement projects as directed by the production /
quality metrics.
. Facilitates staffing schedule assignments to meet production and
customer service requirements, monitoring production schedule and
coordination of constraints regarding productivity and overtime.
. Interacts with engineering and maintenance department /
personnel on establishment of preventative and routine maintenance
programs. Assists in establishing maintenance priorities.
. Monitors daily production downtime issues and addresses major
problems with production scheduling, engineering, and the maintenance
department so as to resolve and prevent recurrence.
. Enforces practices and procedures to maintain quality standards.
. Conducts departmental shift meetings as needed to review new
departmental information, revised procedures, policies, etc. Participates
and helps plan the plant wide meetings.

Converting Manager
Effectively plan, organize, and control the operations within the
Converting Department according to established specifications, methods and
customer requirements.
. Reviews the machine production schedules daily to identify potential
operating problems or concerns and communicates this information to
supervisors and/or operating personnel.
. Monitors daily production downtime issues and addresses major problems
with production scheduling and the maintenance department so as to
resolve and prevent recurrence.
. Reviews and monitors all production, waste and quality reports that
are issued for the Converting Department. Identifies problem areas
and initiates proper action to resolve them.
. Works with engineering personnel in the role of a project team member
for new machine installations and start-ups. Provides pertinent
information to insure that all machine specifications, auxiliary
equipment, installation, operator training, etc meet production needs.
. Initiates and/or revises work methods or procedures, with the approval
of the Plant Manager, as necessary to improve the effectiveness of the
converting operation.
. Responsible for providing training methods for new employees in the
Converting Department to develop skills to become Operators or
Assistant Operators.
. Reviews job performance of all Converting Department salaried
supervisors and technical support personnel through timely, formal
appraisals and day-to-day counseling.
. Coordinates department safety, product safety, fire protection and
housekeeping programs and maintains a clean, safe work environment.
. Conducts routine crew meetings for all shifts to review new
departmental information, revised procedures, policies, etc.
. Maintain and facilitate a comprehensive understanding of the SAP Data
requirements, fulfilling the function as necessary and monitoring
accuracy, and making corrections in SAP as needed.
