Resume:

NAME: Prabhakaran, Binu Phone # 989-***-**** email: ab9r3i@r.postjobfree.com

Summary Product Lifecycle Management [PLM] specialist with over 16 years experience in

product development with a unique change management experience to transform a

manufacturing driven organization to a program driven organization. Finished dual masters

program student MBA & MS with SAP-ECC concentration from Central Michigan University

Professional experience

January 2012 – June 2013 – Teaching Assistant at CMU BIS Dept.

Taught BIS 221 class, focusing on Microsoft Excel and Access, with 34 students. Received first

prize for student paper in Grand Valley State University during the 2012 DSI Midwest conference.

Attended ERPSIM training in Oct 2012. Graduate student senator at CMU SGA, Executive board

member in International Student Organization, and Student Sustainability Committee. Work in

support of academic service learning was recognized as the best work by a student senator for

2012-13.

September 2004 – December 2011 – PLM Project manager at LiteonMobile [China]

LiteOnMobile formerly PERLOS is a leading ODM supplier mobile phone. Starting as the APAC

PLM project manager in 2004, Initial achievements were rolling out Teamcenter implementations

in two sites in China, one each in Japan and Singapore. Apart from building the internal IT team in

local sites, developing and maintaining local vendors ensured on time delivery. Acquisition of a

300 tool capacity facility in south China in 2006; which increased production capacity by 250%,

posed challenges of inorganic IT growth. The integration and change management project

created ample learning opportunities with respect to internal controls and purchasing. The 2008

CEO change and subsequent top management shuffle left the entire PLM team above me

rationalized. Managed PLM operations in 7 countries for the next 4 months solo. CEO change in

2009 and change of direction from a manufacturing to a program driven company gave exposure

to collaborating with SAP team rather than “over the wall” approach in previous years. The typical

product life-cycle of 18 months which was progressively shortening, PLM and ERP integrations

reduced design and engineering times. Project between 2009 & 2011 included mapping the entire

program management process into Teamcenter using automated workflows, enabling KPIs to be

extracted directly from PLM and fed to SAPHR as well as eliminating significant amount of

paperwork for design and engineering teams. Integrations with FI, CO and MM modules

enhanced local, country, region and global level sourcing initiatives. Beijing based PLM lead team

now is lean and sustainable. Project slowed because of Teamcenter performance issues giving

me opportunity to work directly with Siemens R&D team in Atlanta. Under my leadership Phase 1

and phase 1.5 went online on time and under budget.

Apr 2001 – May 2004 – Senior CAD/CAM/PDM Specialist at Softnet computer consultants

[Singapore]

Part of delivery team implementing CAD/CAM customization and PDM integration to CAD/CAM.

Projects located in multiple locations created opportunities to workaround network latency and

poor connections. Made successful deliveries to large as well as multiPLM implementations, and

multiCAD environment.

May 1999 – March 2001 – Associate consultant at NIIT EDC [India]

Product design centric deliveries to federal government organization and facilitating design

optimization for evolution designs. Introducing 3D CAD/CAM environment to senior designers

and engineers used to 2D designing.
