DEAR RECRUITER:
Most employment opportunities attract a competitive pool of candidates, particularly in today’s economy when
qualified candidates mix with applicants with cross-over skills. The outstanding quality I bring to your firm is how my
varied employment background and skills can satisfy multiple resource needs, decreasing expenses and reducing
operational cycle time. I can work independently or as a member of a diverse team to support project, financial, or
organizational goals.
I possess strong project management skills; I can prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, pre-empting
or following through on any developing issues in a timely manner. With strong decision-making abilities,
I am able to perform well and remain flexible under pressure. I am attracted to and energized by challenges that
increase my visibility and accountability in the work environment. I possess a high degree of professionalism and
sensitivity to confidential information, yet maintain an approachable and affable personality to encourage team-
building and reciprocity in my professional relationships. This approach supports a firm's identification as an
employer-of-choice and assists in recruitment and retention of my subordinate staff and peers.
My graphic arts experience has been utilized most effectively in helping each of my employers establish and maintain
a corporate brand identity while also improving the layout and readability of written communication;
I am proficient with Microsoft Suite software and have a user’s familiarity with multiple Adobe Creative Suite
programs. With a strong grasp of writing for business-to-business or business-to-consumer, I have expanded product
and service awareness to multiple target markets. Having produced more than 1,500 business proposals,
I have developed a keen sense of how to anticipate and circumvent project bottlenecks while streamlining processes to
reduce duplication of efforts and maintain project schedules. When relying upon my own efficiencies, I have never
missed a proposal submittal deadline.
For the past 15 years my primary role in each position I have held revolved around my ability to produce "readable"
correspondence, whether it be to directly increase sales volume, inform about company products or services, or report
factual task implementation. I have the ability to understand "techno-speak" and rewrite it to meet the comprehension
levels of multiple target audiences. I have drafted multiple levels of copy, from direct mail advertising "grabs" through
technical project approaches for engineering projects to legislative reporting for government documents. My end
product aims to ensure multiple tones of speech incorporated into a single document read accurately and as one voice.
My hands-on management style remains flexible, adjusting to the talent levels of subordinate staff and input of peer
and management staff to encourage collateral that is informative, historically-correct, and persuasive.
I look forward to being invited to further discuss my qualifications and am open to traveling or relocating if
advancement opportunities in the position warrant it. My salary requirements are negotiable depending upon the total
benefits package offered. I am readily available to interview and can begin assuming the responsibilities of the role
shortly after accepting an employment offer.
Thank you for your consideration.
