Environment : Servers on P570 P595 P6 and with HMC, SAN with IBM model

storage, VIO servers.

Work Environment in IBM

Bharti Airtel project consists of various application and AIX support.

AIX team supports 2500+ logical partitions residing on 100+ p570, 30+ p595,

20 p6 and 20+ standalone boxes. It includes 100+ HACMP cluster systems (2.

3. 4. 5 nodes) on stand-alone and lpar. It includes 30+ GPFS cluster

systems (till 15 nodes) on lpar.

Major activities include - LPAR Move, HACMP Installation, GPFS

Installation, LPAR Build, OS/patch upgrades, performance monitoring, HBA

microcode upgrade, SAN port change etc.

From last Four months other UNIX platforms like (Linux. HP-UX and Sun-

Solaris) also started working.

Responsibilities

. Working on the Incidents which are generated by the monitoring tool

and closing it within the time so as to avoid SLA breach.

. Performing the tasks as per the Incidents, Change requests and Service

requests raised by the users.

. The tickets include high CPU utilization, Swap space issues, process

miss issues, system performance issues, etc.

. OS Patch installation

. OS Migration

. HACMP tests, storage migration, HBA microcode upgrade.

. Handling other day-to-day AIX/HACMP issues. Creating volume groups,

logical volumes, filesystems and nfs mounts in cluster and standalone

systems

. LPAR move, coordinating with storage team
