Objective

Emergency Room Nurse full time 12 hr shifts nights 7p-7-a .I provided
nursing care to all age groups and patient complexities. I worked
independently on night shift providing patient care and education, lab testing,
skilled in phlebotomy,I.V.,EKG,nebulizers,orthopedic splints and molds, urine
screens including rapid med- tox and strep screens. I acquired insight into
dealing with the public both in and outside the Emergency Room and I
worked with the paramedic and assisted them with education and any needs
to assist in appropriate care for patients. My duties consisted of all facets of
patients from trauma,to delivery of a child,orthopedic,cardiac arrest,all
encompassing.
Sherman Ambulatory Care in Algonquin encompassed a lot of the above
duties as Emergency Room but a much smaller scale if patients were critical
or complex they would be transferred to the main E.R. of our local hospitals.

previous urgent care plus did the registration and transfer arrangements for

GOOD SHEPHERD HOSPITAL BARRINGTON,IL 1984-2002
Emergency Room Department Charge nurse full time for 23 years on the pm
and night shifts. I had same duties as at Sherman, plus it encompassed
supervising Emergency Room staff and paramedics. I was an orientation
preceptor mentor, dispensed pharmacy meds, and staff resource person.
Member of the disaster committee helped design and implement the hospital
wide plan and did in-services to educate staff about the plan.I iniated and
implemented 12 hr.shifts.in addition established and was night shift CPR
instructor.Developed the necessary leadership qualities and decision –making
skills to achieve my goal of advancement to administrative nursing.
