Largest hot fill Gatorade plant in the United States that produces over 50
different flavors of Gatorade, Propel, SoBe and Lipton Tea.

Responsible for accident investigations for accidents and near misses on
the shift. Lead and or participate in Safety Program elements. Meet AIB and
food safety requirements for your areas as designated. Assign sanitation
responsibilities for work areas and production lines as designated.
Maintain accountability of employees' schedule, line coverage and correct
work hours. Reconcile materials used and product produced on your lines in
MARS and SAP. KPI tracking for safety, quality, cost and TE performance
within business units. Completion of assigned TPM/HPWS roles and
activities. Facilitate line-troubleshooting activities for issues on your
lines. Support new materials and product testing on the shift. Ensure SOPs
are current and are being followed for activities on your lines. Work with
the Maintenance team to track and prioritize maintenance work items on your

of 195K and an average Sunday circulation of 230K; 1,200 personnel.
Packaging Manager ( 2005-2011
Supervised 3 Salaried Senior Assistant Managers, 6 Salaried Assistant
Packaging Managers, and 195 Hourly and Unionized Mailer Journeyman and
Mailer Assistants. Oversaw a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week manufacturing
operation including all packaging area functions and activities in
inserting preprint advertising for delivery to multiple locations in
Indianapolis area. Assumed P&L accountability. Administered $5M annual
budget and forecasted annual operation budget. Drove strategic planning and
efforts to keep operational costs within budget and meet all deadlines. Led
key machine installation, machine control software, facility improvement
projects and preventative equipment maintenance initiative. Negotiated
mailers union agreements.
. Achieved mailroom productivity and budget goals five consecutive years
. Designed independent conveyor system for new insert machine to tie into
main conveyor system and transport bundled papers from new insert
machine to cartloader system.
. Saved $500K in overhead costs by piloting installation of new Muller-
Martini SLS3000 32:2 insert machine. Led installation, training, and
budget management.
. Reduced annual machine operator hours by 510 by leading insert machine
control system conversion from ICON to Enternet. Coordinated
installation, acceptance criteria, and implementation schedule.
. Improved system efficiency by modifying gripper deliveries to accept
updated controls for insert machines in anticipation of increased
zoning for inserting preprints.
. Cut annual newsprint costs $2M by driving replacement of movable pocket
walls and paddles on 5 insert machines to accept 44-inch jacket for 44-
inch web reduction on presses.
Quality & Output Manager ( 2001-2005
Spearheaded print quality initiative to add predictability to the printing
process. Formulated data from testing printing consumables, technology and
printed test samples to build press profiles with the end result of the
printed product matching the color proofs and having a visual of how pages
are going to appear before printing on press. Supervised 2 Assistant
Managers, 1 print Quality Coordinator, 1 IT Specialist, and 12 Imaging
Specialists in toning photographs to appear in products printed on Star
presses. Output all pages to either negative film or plates to print on
Star presses. Administered $1.2M annual production prepress department
budget. Spearheaded print quality initiatives to upgrade departmental
processes.
. Achieved top-3 rating in print quality out of 90 Gannett newspapers for
3 consecutive years. Played key role on Advertising Quality Committee
that decreased costly errors.
. Led installation and implementation of Proimage NewsWay Workflow
Solution. Administered budget, ensured deadlines were met, and trained
Output staff on operation of new system.
. Facilitated elimination of platemaking staff by directing installation
of 3 Creo Trendsetter 200 CTP units with NELA plateloaders and Kodak
plate processors. Led demolition of old pressroom offices and
construction of new pressroom offices in new location to make way for
CTP plate lines.
. Served as Print Quality Leader for Gannett's Indiana Group, providing
image-toning training for newspapers in Muncie, Richmond, and
Lafayette.
. Played integral role on Gannett Optimum Print Quality Grading Committee
and Indy Star Print Quality Committee.
EARLY CAREER HISTORY
The Plain Dealer ~ Imaging Prepress Manager
. Played key role in launching color reproduction and workflow for new
print facility, integrating new $5M prepress and file transmission
system from downtown office to print facility.
. Converted image-toning process from Scitex to Macintosh desktop using
Photoshop.
. Integrated 2 existing staffs, Color Lab and Image Scanning, into one
unified Imaging Prepress Staff.
The Plain Dealer ~ Lead Scitex Operator
. Supervised 7-member staff and drove daily page production workflows and
operating scanning, photo toning, and output pre-press equipment for
daily color reproduction using Scitex prepress system.
