RESEARCH
EXPERIENCES • Social Influence in Recommnedation Networks, 04/13 Present
Results showed that the information pass rate between friends was 10 times larger than
that of a random network. Besides, the more times an item is recommended, the more
likely that one will accept this item. Will appear in The First Workshop on User
Engagement Optimization at ACM CIKM 2013.
Contextual Item Recommendation, 11/2011 Present
•
Developed a hybrid recommendation algorithm, which combined Matrix
factorization and Probabilistic models (PLSA, LDA), and applied it to
MovieLens and Douban datasets. Results showed that social network
with regularization model can reduce MAE and RMSE of rating
predication by 12.7%. In Proc. IEEE GrC ’11.
Tag Recommendation and Social Retrieval in Folksonomies,
•
02/2010 11/2011
Developed a Post based Collaborative filtering algorithm on tag
recommendation. Implemented several Tensor Factorization algorithms
on item retrieval. Results showed that the Post based CF can improve the
F score by 20%. In Proc. iConf ’11.
Social Network Analysis in a Medical System, 09/2009 02/2010
•
Tested the hypotheses about the correlations of the in degrees and out
degrees of users between three CMC formats in MedHelp.org, including
forum, journal, and note. (with UCINET and Pajek). In Proc. IEEE
ICSC’11.
TCL Research America, Recommendation group. Santa Clara, CA. 01/2013 – Present
WORK
EXPERIENCES • Movie Subtitles matching
Correct the errors in OCR (Optical Character Recognition) movie subtitles by subtitles
from the web. Proposed a dynamic programming algorithm and got a precision of 0.84.
• Large scale Recommendation
Tested major algorithms in two recommendation tools, SVDFeature and MyMediaLite
on MovieLens 100k, 1m and 10m datasets, and large scale dataset KDDCup 2011.
Janssen R&D, In Silico Immunology team. Radnor, PA. 06/2012 08/2012 (3 months)
• Developed computational methodologies to combine data outputs from different
software platforms. Accelerate current Life Cycle Management (LCM) process by fold
changes between 14 and 120. (VBA, Java. Tool: Gene Set Enrichment Analysis)
• Extended the LCM process through upstream analysis of gene expression data (Tool:
Ingenuity Pathways)
