manufacturing facility to refresh Arkansas site and improve budgetary
controls; rapidly fast-tracked (<2 years) to vice president, redesigning
largest manufacturing facility to align with supply chain strategy. Earned
high-profile site visits from AR Governor Beebe plus President Bill Clinton
as part of partnership with Clinton Global Initiative.
Manufacturing Environmental and Employee Safety Strategy
. Won global L'Oreal award with departmental team for safety and
incident investigation and reporting tool; developed plan and strategy
for custom technology built over 6 months with internal IT resource,
saving $500M compared to off-the shelf purchase and tailoring project
to L'Oreal's specific needs.
. In Little Rock factory, educated local companies on world-class
sustainability, safety, production and efficiency, and waste

Volunteered for and subsequently promoted to lead manufacturing
relationship with Procter & Gamble at innovative adjacent facility. Sourced
Cincinnati site and office to encompass sales, design, and production for
Sonoco's largest customer. Oversaw supply chain process to support growth
of this customer's business. Earlier, turned around contract with Hewlett-
Packard with strategic project management for SKU growth coupled with
manufacturing technology expertise. Initially recruited to manage three
manufacturing facilities, particularly to revamp maintenance and
engineering organizations.
Customer Relationship Management
. As unique engineer in innovative facility, and with keen understanding
of P&G product line and packaging needs, sourced site and pitched plan
to create adjacent P&G-specific Innovation Center. Re-envisioned
relationship created $435M in new sales and $122M in contributions by
2006. Project managed entire process, from architecture to office
design.
o Earned reputation as leader in facility with prime
responsibility for health of corporate relationship. Developed
mock retail environment and consumer testing platforms.
o Initiated and facilitated joint planning sessions with P&G that
formed foundation for customer interaction; meetings increased
trust, achieved joint savings of over $22 million annually, and
identified over $3.5 billion in growth opportunities for Sonoco.
. Authored largest RFP response in Sonoco's history, coordinating input
from sales, finance, engineering, manufacturing, and more, generating
$320M contract. Resulted in acquiring business for all packaging for
P&G in North America, including liquid, paper, and packaging for 5
major distribution centers, all co-located for bundling and packaging.
Factory Site Relocation
. Won Sonoco Global Award for customer excellence for contribution to
relocating Hewlett-Packard inkjet pack center. Successfully moved 800+
personnel and 25 production lines with zero interruptions in supply
chain and no safety issues. Completed move early and under budget.
Shipped 150M+ HP inkjet cartridges during transition while earning
trust of HP as steward of billions of dollars of product.

. Operations Manager Human Resource Manager, Procter & Gamble
(Mehoopany, PA). Managed $9.5 million production line upgrade that
included a new building and the addition of new production lines to
existing plant; saved $300,000 by redesigning equipment layouts of
upgrade, optimizing HVAC, and conducting and using results of piping
analysis. Led startup of Bounty napkins; sourced equipment vendor,
designed plant staffing, identified and selected internal talent,
facilitated advanced technical training for Italian vendor, developed
quality control procedures, and designed and coordinated transition.
