Hutchinson North America - Barry Controls Division - Ithaca, MI
Manufactured anti-vibration product using state-of-the-art process.
GENERAL MANAGER - April 2005-June 2013
Responsible for day-to-day operations of the facility to ensure a safe,
smooth operational flow through all departments while meeting the
customer's requirements. Managed costs, expenses, and overhead to meet the
developed budget. Maintained facility's regulatory and insurance
requirements including RTO, phosphate and cementing. Transitioned
manufacturing facility from one division to another in 2005, reduced past
due back log by 90%, and maintained production for both companies
successfully.
Contributions/Accomplishments:
. Managed a team of approximately 125 employees in a busy, 5/24
manufacturing, rubber injection/ compression molding facility.
. Safety Program initiated - monthly employee meetings; 5-5-5 daily safety
walks resulting in zero loss time accidents for a period of five years.
. Annual sales of more than $2M over budget.
. Annual average scrap rate of 0.65%.
. Controlled plant costs to expense budget.
. Initiated an expense savings program resulting in more than $2M in cost
savings.
. Annual average on-time delivery was 97%.

Hutchinson North America - Paulstra, CRC - Ithaca, MI
Manufacturing process: anti-vibration products, metal stamping, welding,
phosphating, cementing, and molding. FACILITY PROJECT MANAGER/PLANT MANAGER
- June 1998-April 2005
Responsible for the construction of a 63,000 square foot manufacturing
facility, including installation of plant systems, water recycling, air
recycling, phosphate line, and RTO unit designed to meet environmental
requirements. Responsible for day-to-day safety, operations and production
to meet customer requirements.
Contributions/Accomplishments:
. Managed all aspects of human resources and training for approximately 100
hourly and 19 salary employees.
. Safety Program initiated - monthly employee meetings resulting in 1% less
of corporate standards.
. Annual average scrap rate of 1.3% of sales.
. All employees trained in Lean Manufacturing principles, SPC, Kaizen, 5S,
and first responder safety.
LOBDELL-EMERY MANUFACTURING COMPANY - Alma, MI
Manufacturing: sheet metal stamping and welded assemblies, Classes 1, 2, 3.
SENIOR FEASIBILITY SALES ENGINEER - 1995-1997
Met with customers to review advanced quoting packages utilizing
computerized programs and part prints. Supervised pre-program processes and
development with build source selection responsibility and reviewed final
quote package with customer.

ENGINEERING SYSTEMS MANAGER - 1991-1995
Supervised Engineering Department, approximately 20 employees, consisting
of Cost-Estimators, CAD, and Project Engineers. Responsible of the
development and implementation of the Engineering Department's capital and
operating budgets. Interfaced with customer and supplier engineering and
purchasing departments from pre-award through project management
implementation up to and through PPAP submission.
Contributions/Accomplishments:
. Implemented QS9000 for the Engineering Department.
ENGINEERING LIASION - 1990-1991
Increased public relations by daily contact with the Prototype Division of
Ford Motor Company. Interfaced with the Purchasing and Materials Mangers
resulting in new job awards along with a letter of accomplishment to the
owner of LOBDELL-EMERY outlining efforts and competency.
