. To develop a procedure that completely eliminates the use of animals
in estimating intestinal protein and amino acid digestibility. This
will be done by introducing a protease incubation procedure developed
by McNiven et al (2002) to replace the ruminal incubation step in the
modified three step procedure developed by Calsamiglia and Stern
(1995) and modified by Gargallo et al. (2006).
