Academic Project Details

“Project: Study on Biodiesel Production from Waste Vegetable Oil”

Description:

Biodiesel is renewable biodegradable eco-friendly and non-toxic fuel. The feedstocks for

Biodiesel production include non-edible oil like waste vegetable oil, neem, honge and hippae.

In our work we used Waste vegetable oil as main source for production of Biodiesel by

Transesterification process in Biodiesel Reactor i.e., it is reaction of a oil with an alcohol to

form esters and glycerol in the presence of NaOH as catalyst, and to study various parameters

like Viscosity, Specific Gravity, Density, Flash point, Fire point, Acid value.

Advantages of Biodiesel: Has high Flash Point (>150ºC) than Petroleum diesel, Liquid nature

portability, Heat-content, extends the life of diesel engine & etc.

Computer programming skills:

• Operating System: Windows 98, Windows 95

• Application: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• C Language and Internet Browsing.
