EXPERIENCE AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Supply Chain Management
Responsible for ModusLink’s development / implementation of a Centralized Supply Chain Planning &

Purchasing model in support of North America, EMEA and APAC sites. Additional areas of responsibility
include establishing global sourcing, logistics, quality, NPI, engineering documentation control, and MRO.
Achieved $1.4M in cost reductions at ModusLink in 2010 through VMI programs, packaging designs and
•
operational process efficiencies. Established consigned VMI 3PL hubs, reduction of the warehouse
stockrooms by over 60% in 2010.
Developed and managed 36 unique “Client” planning and procurement models (concurrently) across 16
•
Global ModusLink sites, utilizing multiple Lean Mfg. purchasing and planning models (i.e., VMI, Kanban,
Safety Stocks, Buy Ahead, demand pull, consignment, supermarkets, utilizing numerous models).
Responsible for Bowe Bell + Howell’s global strategic H/W and electronic component sourcing of capital
•
equipment - totaling $500M. The establishment of Kanban / VMI programs that reduced inventory levels by
70%. Reduced BBH’s AVL (supplier list) from 3000 suppliers in 2007 to 350 in 2008.
Responsible for global purchasing / planning / distribution and operational management for Motorola
•
manufacturing (Reynosa, MX) and distribution center located in McAllen, TX.
Executed operational efficiencies in Motorola’s Reynosa MX factory resulting in a 30 percent of the
•
workforce while increasing the through put by 50% through value stream mapping VMI programs.
Developed and implemented 3PL supplier consigned inventory hubs to support Motorola’s factory and
•
distribution facilities eliminating 40% of their inventory storage in their distribution facility located in
McAllen TX. Overall inventory dropped by $135M ($30M in the factory and $105M in distribution).
Inventory turns increased from 2 to 32. Customer’s on-time deliveries increased from 87% to 99.954%.
WIP inventory decreased from $4M to less than $500K.
Obtained new business opportunities for Sanmina-SCI that resulted in additional $1.8M in sales revenue
•
during 2004. Was responsible for the material and procurement transfer of Nokia’s EMEA repair business to
Tatabanya, Hungary for Sanmina-SCI in 2004. Project was on time, under budget and profitable day one
with an average inventory of less than $100K per week.
Established / managed a new Sanmina-SCI repair factory in Tatabanya, Hungary under best practices, VMI
•
and the extensive use of value stream mapping. The factory was profitable day one of operation.
Achieved 35% annualized cost reduction ($600K) on packaging and expense items for Solectron in 2003
•
by ensuring contractual pricing and the establishment of consignment inventories. Established vendor
managed inventory principles on 75% of purchasable items.
Strategically Planned and Outsourced Nortel $500M manufacturing and procurement operations to contract
•
manufacturer, Solectron, Inc. Developed the Client / Supplier Contract, then project managed the material,
personnel and equipment transfer. The project was on-time, on-budget and seamless to Nortel’s business
operations.
Developed a site costing and pricing process at Solectron to provide customer Nortel, Inc. with a monthly
•
contractual monthly pricing list. Managed a staff of 4 people with a department expense budget of $2.5M.
Implemented EDI and demand pull processes for 26 major suppliers with a supplier commitment process in
•
conjunction with coordinating implementation of the materials and procurement modules in Oracle, SAP and
i2 software at Nortel in 1997.
Project Management / Process Re-engineering / Systems Management
• Responsible for divisional / global supply chain for Asteelflash Corp. - Owego, NY and Raleigh NC sites.
• Responsibility for purchasing, planning, sourcing, logistics, warehouse management and SMT kitting.
Project managed and transitioned 4 US Motorola sites into their Motorola Reynosa, MX site. All 6 were
•
transferred within 8 months and were on-time and on-budget.
Project managed the transfer of Nortel operations / manufacturing to Solectron’s Creedmoor. Two years
•
later, transferred Solectron Creedmoor Site into their Solectron Guadalajara, MX site. Both projects were
on-time and on-budget.
• Assisted IBM with outsourcing their IBM Greenock, Scotland manufacturing location to a Sanmina-SCI
facility in Szekesfehervar, Hungary. The project was on-time, on budget and no impact to sales order
deliveries and showed a profit for Sanmina-SCI after the 1st month.
• Led team of process and systems engineers to on time delivery of Y2K system changes; including test plan
development and software validation.
Successfully led IT, Materials and Operations teams in an I2 and Baan 4.0 Implementation.
• Led an Information Systems and Materials team in the implement i2 Supplier Commitment Web Solution.
• Relocated Motorola manufacturing facilities located in Arlington, Fort Worth and Nuevo, MX into our
Reynosa, MX facility without impacting manufacturing material flows or customer service levels.
Outsourced Bowe Bell + Howell’s Wheeling IL site to a contract manufacturer in Montreal, Canada saving
•
$2.0M in manufacturing / inventory costs in 2008.
Coordinating the transitioning of systems Oracle 11i, Vantive, and IFS to SAP at Bowe Bell + Howell.
