Accomplishments
. Increased accuracy, consistency, and speed within the sales quoting
process through the development of manufacturing process standards based
on the attributes and measurements captured through time studies.
. Introduced Lean Manufacturing to 43 legally blind production workers
through 5S practices, Setup reduction, Line balancing, and an
understanding of the interior customer and supplier relationships in
order to create "win-win" opportunities. This also increased the Team
member's independence, self-sufficiency, and job satisfaction.
. While at Ecolite, I was responsible for the successful operation of 2
manufacturing facilities, 5 supervisors, 12 production leads, and
approximately 180 team members. Conducted Lean training and initiated
setup reduction / tooling reorganization program with an initial 50%
improvement. Job title - Plant manager, Promoted to Value Stream Manager.
(2008 - 2009)
. Increased efficiencies and reduced manufacturing costs by 27% at Accra-
Fab through the introduction of Lean manufacturing concepts and methods.
Additionally responsible for standard work creation and implementation,
fixture design, and daily review of efficiency and productivity
improvement opportunities through various Lean initiatives.
. Organized and conducted 16 rapid improvement / Kaizen workshops between 3
and 5 day durations involving 5 to 12 production team members,
supervisors, and managers.
. Maintained 95% production efficiency for 2003 through established
standards, metrics, and periodic reporting, while reducing defects and
scrap material by 42% through various quality control initiatives in 2002
and 2003.

time incidents from June 2004 - July 2006.
. Conducted 500+ performance reviews and team member development plans
since 1991. Starting in 1999, lean education and training became part of
each team member's development plan and performance goals worksheet. This
created an understanding of value, promoted empowerment, and a commitment
to continuous improvement.
