ACADEMIC PROJECTS

• Development and Testing of a Web Based Project Selection Tool [Selenium, Java, JSP, Servlets, JUnit, H2 Database]

The project was aimed at a tool for selection of projects online and the professors can then allocate projects based on student

preferences.

• Development of “Cyberminer – A growing web search engine” [Java Event Model, Java, JSP, JavaScript]

This project shall accept a list of keywords and return a list of URLs whose descriptions contain any of the given keywords.

Cyberminer contains case-sensitive search, Hyperlink Enforcements, Specifying OR/AND/NOT Search, Multiple search engines run

concurrently, Deletion of out-of-date URL, Listing of query results in alphabetical order, setting the number of results to show per

page, and navigation between pages and auto fill features.

• Automated Toll Processing System [Java, Astah UML Tool]

tag information or license plate information. Finally a receipt is sent to the vehicle owner concerning the toll collected.

• Implementation of Design Patterns[Java, Spring Framework, JUnit]

This project involved implementation of some design patterns (Creational Pattern, Behavioral Pattern, Structural Pattern, Concurrency

Pattern and Architecture Pattern) using Java Spring Framework.

• Dynamic Encryption and Decryption [Java]

The project involved dynamically encrypting and decrypting the text as and when typed using AES and DES Standards of Encryption.

This project was developed in Java and Java Cryptography API's.

• Proposal of Usage of Open-Source Distributed Database for Big Data Applications[Cassandra DB, Hadoop, No-SQL, Java]

This project is aimed as a proposal for usage of open-source Distributed databases like Cassandra and Mongo which can be used as

optional storage spaces instead of conventional databases like Oracle and Teradata. This also proves that the usage of such databases

increased operability and decreased costs of operation. This also points to the fact that these databases are faster than Oracle or

Teradata databases. The Front End used was Java which is used for loading and retrieving data from the open-source distributed

databases and was used for comparing its usage with those of the conventional databases.

• SMS Based Secured Banking Application [Rational Software Architect, Java & Android, MySQL]

This project is aimed at development of a secured banking application. For this purpose, a Software Requirements Specification

document had been prepared, developing the application according to the requirements specification and finally a final report with a

power point presentation was provided.

• Control Flow and Dataflow Based Testing & Functional Testing [xSuds]

This project is aimed at usage of xSuds to measure the block, decision, c-use and p-use coverage on unix “spell” command with

respect to the test cases already generated as a part of Functional Testing Project. Also, additional test cases were developed based on

hints provided by xSuds so as to improve block and decision coverage.

• Simulation of Unix V6 File System [C]

This project is aimed at simulation of a Unix V6 File System. In this case, data was initially written into the File System from an input

file and the same data was then transferred from the File System into an output File. Direct, Single-Indirect and Double-Indirect

addressing modes had been simulated as a part of this project.
