Production Control Manager
Trinity Industries, a leading producer in North America of freight cars, tank cars, railcar axles, and coupling devices.
Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, oversee all production planning and the creation of master schedule for all four M&T production
facilities (Hot side and Cold Side), capacity planning, distribution and warehousing of all WIP and finished goods, manage all M&T physical
inventories, generate daily Operations Report for company wide distribution, facilitate demand planning SIOP meeting, as well as participate in
Weekly Steering Committee meeting.
Developed, launched, and maintained Production Control department by integrating new Lean Manufacturing and scheduling concepts through
a streamlined capacity module and MRP system (AS400). Orchestrated a complete turnaround by successfully reducing a 6.5 million dollar back
log to 750,000 in six months while achieving 95% on-time delivery from the previous 41%, exceeding AAR, FRA, and customer requirements.
Managed WIP & finished product inventory levels and scheduled transfers to 10 production/distribution facilities across North America,
ensuring lead times and inventory turns are kept to acceptable levels.
Run multiple Kaizen events, reduce non-value added work elements, opened up 4800 sq. ft of floor space for new production & increased WIP
& finished product flow. Results in direct & indirect labor & material savings on avg. of 20% thru – “point of use” inventory, motion reductions,
ISO 9001 work instructions, quality at the source, and PPAP.
Facilitate Demand Planning SIOP meeting and assist in pre-SIOP sessions. Ensure all participants contribute to the SIOP process within the
agreed upon timing of the calendar of events. Communicate to sales and upper management recommendations in decisions concerning inventory

Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, manage daily operations for a Fortune 500 manufacturer of Bulk Lumber and commercial
construction resources. Oversee manufacturing, inventory control, production line capacity & demand planning, capital improvement projects,
cost-benefit analysis, and logistics. Direct activities of multiple planners to achieve plant and material feasible production plans through a SAP
R/3 integrated software system and Lean Manufacturing principals to align all plant divisions. Scope of diverse responsibility include: filling,
packing, warehousing and product distribution.

SAP Implementation ($6.5M). Led 14 – person technology and support team in a massive SAP implementation project impacting the entire
facility and workforce. Played lead role in design of critical front end processes for the order fulfillment/capacity module in SAP. Conducted
one-on-one and group training sessions to alleviate new system uncertainty while delivering the project on time. RESULT: Created a totally
integrated technology environment linking inventory, production planning, quality, cost accounting, and other core manufactur ing and support functions. Program drove
efficiency levels 30% and exceeded projected $4 million in annual cost savings. Project completed in 9 weeks; noted a successful implementation.
Capital Improvement Projects ($15M). Directed $15+ million in capital improvements with individual project costs at $18,000 to $6.5 million.
From concept to conception project proposal and planning to determine time frame, budgetary cost, cost-benefit analysis, scope of work,
staffing requirements, and allotment of resources throughout various phases of project. RESULT: Acquisition of a fully-automated lumber processor,
high capacity Combilifts, and a fully integrated SAP/MRP software system that significantly reduced production costs and increased productivity.

Planned and redesigned cost-effective logistic strategies, policies, and procedures. Including establishing business relationships with all major
domestic shipping lines (Air, Barge, Rail, Truck, and Vessel) and top international freight vendors.
Coordinated the strategic sourcing and planning of more than 35k tons of foreign aggregate imports from countries including New Zealand,
Iceland, and Chile into the southwest U.S. Managed 32 company-leased railcars (Closed Hopper cars) for planning more than 50k tons domestic
bulk aggregate shipments from 10 different states.
Orchestrated a complete overhaul of the New Zealand vendors’ logistical operations from door to door. Scope of logistical modifications
include the changing of ocean freight ports, third party dock hands, negotiation of flat truck rates, equating to a three dollar per ton cost-savings
per shipment.
