Significant Accomplishments
. Promoted in 2011 to Global Engineering Manager. Title changed to
Global Engineering Director in early 2013.
. Successfully managed and launched the largest program in ASC history
($21.9MM of capital) in both US and China (Tianjin) plants.

for GM. The Gen V program is the largest program ASC ever implemented,

. Reduced the scrap on several high volume projects from over 30% to
less that 1%. One of these projects was a 4 cavity leak sensitive Semi-
Permanent mold part for a RWD Ford engine.
Casting Design / Product Development
. Authority over all engineering and product development issues relating
to the water pump from assembly cell and component design through to
process, and tooling design for multiple processes and materials
including aluminum, plastics, and other formed components for all ASC
locations.

Significant Accomplishments
. Was integral in the launch of MAGMASoft at Empire, and became key in
the use of MAGMASoft, including MAGMA Frontier, & MAGMA Stress.
. Introduced and designed and successfully launched 3-plate die cast
tooling.
. Reduced the scrap on several high volume projects from over 20% to
less that 1% internally. One of these projects was a 12 cavity A/C
component for an automotive application.

Team Industries is a $200MM manufacturing company specializing in the
design, manufacture, and assembly of clutch and transmission components for
the ATV, and snowmobile markets.
Significant Accomplishments
. Supervised two direct reports, an engineer and an estimator.
. Reduced scrap on existing parts from upwards of 40% to less than 5%
using MAGMA. This was accomplished on a total of 5 parts including a
clutch sheave, timing gear cover, two crankcases, and a gear case.
. Averaged $30K/month "profit" on tooling - projects came in under
budget. This was accomplished through price negotiation with tool and
die shops, and good design practices.
. Managed several programs of high complexity where the tools are
running below quoted scrap, and above quoted production rate. Two
highlights are a set of 4 parts for a brake pedal assembly for a golf
cart, and a set of 5 parts for a transmission and rear differential
assembly for an ATV all of which run on 1600T die cast machines.
Project Management and APQP
. Lead the APQP & project management effort to help ensure a successful
product launch. Was responsible for the entire project from the
estimating phase, through the tooling design phase, through
development of the FMEA, Control Plan, & ultimately PPAP in a
"Customer Focus Team" setting.
. Responsible for all commercial issues, budgets, and timelines on all
engineering projects. Budgets exceeded $400K on some projects. Total
expenditures exceeded $1.5-2MM a year.
. Evaluated domestic and off-shore (China) tool shops for suitability.
Had full authority over placing work with tool shops based on an
understanding of their capabilities, including LCC suppliers.
. Worked with sales or, on an individual basis with customers, to
propose design options for manufacturability (DFM). Used presentations

. Spearheaded process improvements and design automation efforts such as
"Smart Assemblies", implementation of Pro/Mold, and "drawing-less"
manufacturing. These efforts helped reduce tool design lead time by 10-
15% per project.

Visteon is a $2B company specializing in the production of complex
automotive parts and assemblies. The Sandusky plant specialized in air-
intake and headlamp assemblies.
Primary Responsibilities
. Design feasibility reviews of very cosmetic parts, such as automotive
headlamps, and tail-lamp lenses, bezels, side-markers, etc. for mold-
ability.
. Ensured that all tooling was evaluated using the mold evaluation
process, and oversaw the quality control of all tooling that comes
into the plant by making sure that the molds meet company
specifications.
Tooling Design Engineer - 6/1997 to 8/2000 DCD Technologies
