Application Software Development Manager

Reported to the Tech Head for the Private Client Group, with a team of up to 12 Developers / QAs, was

accountable for the support and development of 40 financial applications for 4 LOBs (Private Client group - PO,

WBPO, InvestorLine and Research). These applications required a variety of skills such as Java, C#, VB6, NET,

SQL, Oracle, Access and Powerbuilder using SDLC, AGILE or Rapid Development, with CMMI 5 project

framework, ISO and ITIL.

• Managed projects utilizing cross functional teams of up to 24 fulltime, contractors, Global

Resources, Consulting firms and 3rd party vendors consisting of Developers, QAs, BAs, BTSs and

STSs

• Managed and met the target of 99.9% accuracy forecasting up to 14 budgets per year relating to

Regulatory, Maintenance, Discretionary and Departmental funding (Average funding 350K to

450K)

• Participated in the yearly proposals of budgets including business cases, requests for funding,

approval, creation and closure

• Led projects creating or refining the efficiency of applications which the business use to meet

government regulatory timeframes (ie.NI-24101) ensuring compliance and increased credibility

• Planned and managed 5 to 10 currency upgrades per year (both hardware and software) for critical

applications

CGI 1998 - 2006

Practice - Project Manager (2004 - 2006)

Reporting to the Director of Consulting Services, managed a team of up to 30 Developer, BA and QA resources

which developed and supported quality web applications utilizing hub, portal (Java and .NET) technology on time

and within budget for the telecommunications industry.

•Acknowledged for mentoring inexperienced web services professionals with diverse I.T. skills,

reducing the need to hire more experienced workers, increasing the profit margin on resource

costs by over 10%

•Project managed the Antivirus and Spam Project which installed third party software for all of Bell

and CGI (60,000 users) which involved over 40 groups and dozens of servers utilizing various e-

mail solutions

•Dynamically negotiated, managed and deployed resources across multiple projects and clients,

ensuring that Resource utilization was 100% with no negative impacts to projects

Led or shared responsibility for various Bell Canada projects ranging in value from $100,000 to $1 million,

utilizing 10 to 20 I.T professionals, using AGILE (ICE) or Rapid Development.

• Acted as the prime point of contact between the CGI Development and the client to steer the

projects through to completion

• Partnered with clients to define their requirements, designed the technical aspects, devised project

schedules and deadlines

• Successfully led a project allowing Bell and non-Bell vendors the ability to create and manage

orders using portal technology accessing information on the hub - replacing the old process of

faxing the order to Bell
