Objective
To work in an environment that promotes professional skills and growth.
Education
Darlington High
Graduated with diploma. Completed welding 1&2 with certificate top of class and completed
course in drafting.
Experience
Southern Steel Systems- Darlington S.C 1995- 1999
Started working part time during my last couple of years in high school as a mig welder. Duties
included welding, painting, loading, prep work, and fabricating structural steel parts such as
beams, columns, handrails etc. Within one year of graduating I was promoted to Q.C manager
which I checked all parts to ensure tolerances were held according to print specs. Also managed
night shift for one year . And some minor installation of small tonage projects.
Precision Steel- Raleigh N.C 1999- 2001
Southern Steel was purchased by Precision with intentions of becoming one of the largest
fabrication shops in the southeast . I was promoted to assistant shop manager where I overseen
the daily operations of the plant with a total of 30 employees. Projects ranged from 20 tons to
1700 tons in locations from Philadelphia,Georgia,Tennessee to Texas. Our plant became in the
main financial income for Precision with the most profit between three shops.
Carolina Steel Services- Florence S.C 2001- 2005
I started there as a structural fabricator and within three weeks was promoted to plant manager,
after two years I was offered a partnership. During my tenure there I took a small shop of 10
employees and transformed it from producing a average of 20 tons a week to an avenge of 65
tons a week by reconstructing the shop floor plan, brought in more qualified people, and
equipment. I have a hands on attitude,I believe a good leader has to know how to perform every
duty and not scared to get dirty with your employees. I also overseen projects installed by our
erection crew to insure the customer was satisfied from beginning to end. Internally I helped
project manage, took field dimensions where I would build some projects with no shop drawings
only having the contract drawings and field dimensions.
Adams Steel LLC. AISC cert. shop- Florence S.C 2005- 2009
There I performed the same duties and position that I held at Carolina Steel. I spent more time
internal bidding projects, project managing, and dealing with financial situations and decisions
daily. After two years myself and the owner doubled our backlog and we expanded the facilities
to acquire the work by adding 10 more employees and 200 more feet the the shop. I also took on
the position of erection foreman, where myself and few shop hands would go out and install
beams, columns, handrails, deck and bar joist. I helped our quality control manager write our
manual which helped us acquire our AISC certification. I was able to take a small shop and
turned it into a facility capable of producing 100 tons a week and a large backlog based on the
attitude of having a top quality product and customer satisfaction.
Huggins Steel- Darlington S.C 2009- 2010
Owner and operator bid, and fabricated small structural steel projects 20 tons and under.
Superior Machine Co. of Florence S.C- Florence S.C 2010- CURRENT
Started as a fitter and after a few months promoted to panel shop leadman. There I manage on the
floor 20 employees and help with the fabrication of projects that pertain to use in the watercool
systems used in steelmills such as roof & wall panels, uppershells, roofs, delta rings, and a
assortment of duct work, the majority of the material used is carbon pipe.
