A spin-off of United Healthcare and provider of high risk pool health insurance and small
employer health reinsurance administration.
Vice President/CFO
Manage the daily operations of the accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable
and financial reporting for both the company (PAI) and client companies resulting in the production of
accurate and timely financial statements and financial reports for all entities.
Development, documentation, implementation and maintenance of sound policies and procedures, the
end products of which have been adequate, effective and efficient controls over financial, operational and
organizational processes while ensuring the safeguarding of assets.
Lead and coached a team of twelve employees to establish the operational and organizational functions
across the entire company at it’s founding through the encouragement of cooperation amongst a diverse
population, and enlightening staff on the importance of interdependencies of functions and roles across

Budget to actual analysis, ensuring cost variances are anticipated and avoided if at all possible. If such
variances are not avoidable, justification of the variances and explanations of such are delivered timely
to the appropriate parties and managed for maximum mitigation.
Facilitate and lead cross-functional teams of senior management to identify organization wide objectives
and goals and to identify issues and concerns. These projects have resulted in the development and
implementation of an effective and test-proven disaster recovery and business continuity plan, as well as
the efficient development and/or modification of four proprietary applications, and numerous processes.

Coordination, planning and oversight of the annual audit function performed by the independent CPA
firm for the client companies administered, as well as working with the auditors toward the timely
completion of the audits.
Management and oversight of the statutory quinquennial financial examination of a client company’s
financial statements by the Connecticut Insurance Department, and the examination of another client
company’s financial information by the Federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
