Principle responsibility

During this period I have been involved in fabrication, installation, testing and commissioning

& Fabrication of piping systems (Process) of the projects. Which includes the following day to

day responsibilities:-

Review the scope of work as described in the Contract. Liaise with the Piping Superintendent,

Mechanical Engineer, Planning Engineer and Forman. Estimate the scope of work and liaise

with the fabrication Engineering Manager to ensure that Contractor supplied material is

requisitioned in a timely manner to enable procurement in accordance with the Contract

Master Schedule.

Liaise with fabrication personnel to ensure issue of engineering information and drawings are

being issued in line with the construction schedule. Ensure all work being carried out is done in

a timely manner and in line with the master schedule. Effective maintenance of Performance

through HS&E and STOP program. Achieve safety standards as defined in personal

performance contract.

Review, and apply the contract specifications, project procedures, relevant codes and standards

in the execution of piping production engineering. Preparation of construction work packs and

job cards. Work with the inspectors and contractor for resolution of quality control related

issues or concerns.

Oversight of all contractors’ fabrication and installation activities for successful completion of

the work in accordance to the project schedule and contract. Responsible for on and offshore

construction activities. Work with the inspectors and contractor for resolution of quality control

related issues or concerns.

Construction of atmospheric above ground storage tanks, shell plate erection on going

by jacking method. Coordinating fabrication and erection activities for the tanks. Coordinating

commissioning of all tanks.

Supervise and manage the subcontractors for the construction of storage tanks and report to

Review the approval documents about Inspection Test Plan of the project to ensure inspection

toassure that the required forms used in testing submitted are approved by client representative

as per procedure and specifications approved from the client side such as:-Installation

checklist for static/rotating equipments-Leveling/alignment recording forms for horizontal and

vertical package type-Axial/radial, soft foot parallelism forms for pumps and compressors.

Regular surveillance checking at site to verify the preservation requirements for anchor bolts

during construction stage. Check the physical condition of anchor bolts and leveling of

foundations before erection of equipments. Check preservation status of equipments at site.

Ensure to have a preservation log for all the equipments checked and monitoreddaily/weekly

for easily tracking the status.

Obtaining a complete check list of the assembling equipment and keep a record of a same

responsible person for clearance of materials inspection. Responsible for erection of

equipments such as pumps, vessels, tanks and compressors and other equipments as per the

approved method statement. Check equipment orientation before and after erection. Check the

shimming requirements for static and rotating equipments. Check the condition of pump

alignment (axial/radial) for preparation for piping & fabrication installation. After getting

clearance note of civil about foundation ready preparation for alignment and leveling and

checked setting of padding plates.

Checking and verifying the drawings and specifications familiarized on the construction details.

Ensure that the drawings are in latest revision and editions, approved for fabrication and

construction. Monitoring inspection at implementation of projects procedure, specifications at

method for statement. Coordinating with the sub contractors (Engineers, Supervisors and

Inspectors) to ensure the compliance of quality assurance. Carried out Visual inspection or line

checking for hydro testing, pneumatic testing and reinstatement of pipe.

Assigning the Utility area respectively, conducting walk down inspection and punch clearing

work. Study and implement approved ITP’s (Inspection and Test Procedure) to be conducted on

all piping installation. Supervising and monitoring of pipe spool on above ground pipe racks

and under ground pipe line, conducting punch clearing for rectified punched items and make

confirmation to hand over to the client’s consultant for final walk down / punch listening and

clearing prior to test requirements.

Inspection of surveillances of pipes and ensuring it is in accordance with the General

Specifications and approved for construction. Enforce soundless of quality for field

workmanship. In charge of monitoring for cleaning of punch item of test packages. Coordinates

schedule of testing on piping to both hydro test group and QC. Perform related jobs as

assigned by the area piping Superintendent.

Direct supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in the fabrication, installation

and underground pipes for drains and above grounds for process plants and structure erection

equipments. Studies plan drawings to determine the extent of work to be done, material and

equipment to be used assists in preparation the schedule of work activities and gives

assignments to subordinates like Foreman, Charge Hand and gives priority to critical areas.
