transportation and product handling costs. 3PL's also employed to manage
international merchandise shipments into the west coast to take advantage
of reduced freight costs and transit time while adding production lead

. Introduced UPS Supply Chain - Cross Border solutions as the logistics

Warehousing

. Introduced a 2nd shift to a warehouse operation utilizing existing staff,
flex schedules and night differential to extend receiving and

Expense Control

. Impacted retail expense offsets through compliance training and the
introduction of packaging, marking and EDI information processing

provider strategies, re-negotiated hotel and car rental rates, introduced
a travel policy defining approved hotels and meal allowance per country.
Project Management
. Directed a Fortune 500 organization to outsource equipment transportation
to a third party logistics company including systems integration and data
transfer protocols using EDI and FTP. Operational savings totaled $5
million.
. Instrumental in re-engineering the Equipment Sales and Field Service
division of a dental supplies company. Established national service
HUBs, three call centers, deployed field devices, centralized equipment
and parts procurement. Improved efficiencies and enhanced customer
service.
. Implemented factory quality, packaging & compliance controls and
production & shipment tracking protocols.
Systems Development
. Designed a merchandise payment process platform to utilize data
interfaces with outside service providers (EDI 850's & 856's) to initiate
multi-currency, multi-pay mode merchandise settlements. Reduced manual
data processing, eliminated redundant processes and non-value-added tasks
within the supply chain.
. Defined, designed and implemented a fully automated, $300M/annum Letter
of Credit issuance and payment systems. Eliminated related manual
processes, reduced bank fees by $200K.
. Implemented a Purchase Order Payment check and wire transfer systems to
provide suppliers with viable alternatives to Letters of Credit. Reduced
corporate credit line utilization, $50K/annum bank fees and transaction
processing man-hours.
. Designed and implemented a financial application to electronically
reconcile $500M/annum merchandise payments. Reduced clerical FTE 45%.
