Detailed Work Experience
This section contains a detailed explanation of work experience and skillset
Data conversion
Conversion between Fixed Record Layout, Variable Record Layout, and HL7 accomplished via
Cloverleaf variants, translations, and TCL procedures.
TCL coding
Writing and maintaining TCL code for healthcare interfaces. This includes ODBC (open database
connectivity) code, generic code that uses lists of arguments to determine outcome, and specialized code
to do specific tasks. I use industry coding standards to provide consistency and readable, maintainable
code.
Training
Instructor of various Windsong certification courses such as TCL programming and HL7 fundamentals
Centricity 10 / LinkLogic
Training in Centricity 10 and LinkLogic. This includes viewing patient and provider charts and
documents, and manually matching HL7 messages with the correct patient chart for accurate message
transfer.
LIS (Lab Information Systems)
Allscripts, Antek, Centricity, Cerner, CompProMed, eClinical Works, eCast, MediNotes, Meditech,
Orchard, Practice Fusion, Praxis, Soapware, and others
Cloverleaf interface construction and maintenance
This includes building and maintaining various Cloverleaf configurations such as:
o Threads, routes, translations, FRL, VRL, and HL7 variants
o TCL procedures
EHR Integration
Analysis of vendor/client specifications, followed by design and construction of interfaces. This
includes communicating with vendors/clients and collaborating with other analysts in order to establish
connectivity and accurate transfer of data.
Technical Documentation
Documentation is vital. I am able to adapt to my client's documentation standards to document work
performed, as well as support documentation for interfaces. I also have a standardized system that I can
evolve to meet the needs of any client if they do not have an existing documentation system.
Windsong Consulting and Data Integration:
Oregon Medical Group:
Converted immunization records to HL7 in order to meet State of Oregon validation criteria
Developed RIS interface
Integrating the PACs and radiology systems to Centricity
Regularly work with the lab and radiology departments to add and update provider information
PeaceHealth:
Converted pipe-delimited extracts from historical records to HL7 to achieve the MU certification for
the state and national certification
Developing multiple lab interfaces, which included ODBC SQL calls to integrate data between the
labs and hospital systems
Developing interfaces for all healthcare business modules including registration, billing,
transcription, and labs (orders and results)
Collaborating with other analysts to facilitate accurate exchange of data between Cloverleaf and
Epic Bridges. This occurred primarily from within Cloverleaf.
